Everyone note that Restoring Root C is still up. @Waterbrick Down If Matthias rolled Roots of Life, the Stave should have produced a Kudzu (been waiting for that to happen for 3 quests!) so that all opponents are *Bound* and take 66 damage - although I suppose many of them are immune to AoE. CMP Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) Atramor slowly brings himself to his feet. The red lashes of a hundred thorny vines across his body close up, but leave his coat in tatters. He spits up a mouthful of some vile green spores intermingled with saliva. Taken aback by the fierceness of Rosier's response, he looks to either side to see the party's flanks laying down a serious counterattack. He grits his teeth. "Alright. Alright. Forget what I said. Everyone get yourselves ready. We just need to survive until the rest of the heroes can join us. 'Til then, we can't go down." He strayed over to the Golden Dragon and the Walking Mountain. The rogue's mouth fell open a bit when he saw the edges of both of them were fraying as though they were made of smoke. "You ain't long for this place, are ya'?" OoC: You did. On 10/9/2018 at 3:54 AM, Alfadas said: Torald looks the Waldorf look alike or whatever it is in the eye, clenches his jaw and stabs his trident straight through his stomach. Whatever you are, don't impersonate others. Won't end well for you. Torald attacks Waldorf with the trident, front row. @Waterbrick Down I could be wrong, but I've been doing the math, and I think Lind should have done more than 41 damage to Jinnipher. Quote SHIELD: Arrogant Prick - The black knight recklessly breaks through the target’s defences, causing damage equal to four times their weapon power added to their level, ignoring SP. They also steal whatever the target drops to themselves. However, this leaves the black knight stunned for a turn. (e.g. WP 10 x 4 + Level 15 = 55 damage ignoring SP + steal drops + stunned to self) WP 14(Bifrost Blades) x 4 = 56 56 + Level 26 = 82 Damage. But Lind's also wearing his Vorpalis Netherwings: Vorpalis Netherwings (SP: 4, the wearer deals double damage to humanoid type enemies and takes half damage from Holy/Light enemies. Backwear, suitable for anyone.) The only thing is, I know the Blades have a Diamond embedded in them, so I was not sure if that would have any effect(since I know that Darkness/Amethyst attacks do x2 damage). But I believe the x2 to Humanoids from the wings isn't Elemental, I think it's more like how Hunters can Favor a target. Checking the Wiki, though, the Humanoid type isn't even mentioned in the Light entry: Quote Gem: Diamond (clear) Effective Against: Dark, Demon and Undead Doesn’t Affect: Ethereal, Holy and Luminous Checking the Humanoid type entry: Quote Humanoid is an enemy type that is weak to darkness and impervious to no element. So there shouldn't be any nullification from the Diamond. So...adding an extra x2 onto the attack...I'm wondering if Lind should actually have done 164 damage to Jinnipher? I could be doing it out of order(I forget the Sandy-approved approach) - but I really think Lind should have done more than 41 damage. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 As Rosier draws back to strike down the remaining heroes, Hoke quickly looses a Phoenix Essence on Althior. In a fiery flash, the prophet is upright gasping for breath after recovering from near death. The prophet stumbles as he restores the Golden Dragon and then deftly deploys a Phoenix Incense. Hero after hero rises up fully recovered and ready to fight once more."YOU LEARN NOTHING, I WILL SQUASH YOU ALL ONCE MORE!"Wanderburg boosts Benji as Euflear launches nearly a dozen bullets into the sky peppering the demon with fiery buckshot. Yuliana charges the archdemon once more but is brushed aside with a mighty thorn branch, piercing the dragoon's defenses. Seeing his companion injured, Luxidios once more takes to the sky, the party upon his back and nearly destroys Rosier's exterior frame with burning radiant power. Skrall amps himself up on alchemical concoctions as Atramor dashes out of sight. Just as the archdemon makes ready to lunge at the party once more, Benji winds back and slams a sleep bomb right into the monster's face. In an instant the archdemon crashes to the ground, out cold.Arrows fly back and forth as Kiray downs the false impersonator Diana, the ace assassin sinking to her knees with a look of hopelessness before vanishing into an ashy heap. Petaldan, Throlar, and Germ hack away at the ever growing weeds as their companions slowly bring down the clones. Lind drops Jinnipher with a double strike from his icy blades, as Torald stabs his trident into the Waldorf look-alike and Eric nearly smashes the mechanical monstrosity to tiny pieces. Heckz weather casting brings upon a growing darkness throwing the entire cavern into a dim shadow. Across the battle field, the heroes start to hack away at the mass of vines and roots, Boomingham, Lady Luck, Nerwen, Arthur and the Miracle Worker all laboring to destroy every last one. Karie sings an inspiring tune as Dyric begins his grim dance of death downing aspect after aspect with his crossbow. Vindsval in a heroic charge pins the doppelganger of Kayla to the ground with a tremendous strike, the aspect looking with pity and rage at Karie before disintegrating in a pile of fairy dust. Matthias loads his cannon with fiery shot and mows down the hedges of vines that separate the group from their senior allies. The parties join together even as Rosier's restorative root system brings her out of her slumber."ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO YOUR FINAL SLUMBER!" Quote "Alright. Alright. Forget what I said. Everyone get yourselves ready. We just need to survive until the rest of the heroes can join us. 'Til then, we can't go down." He strayed over to the Golden Dragon and the Walking Mountain. "The devil's drainin' every bit of fairy dust in the place and bein' made of the stuff we... we're not going to last long." "Might be a bit sooner than that I'm afraid, lass." QM Note: It is not possible for Dragon's to Equip or use items. The round has been completed, one note, it came to my attention that after the aspects have all been defeated Rosier does not have a SPECIAL DAMAGE. The monster has thus been modified to reflect this outcome, apologies for the oversight. Quote

OOC: Calling Rosier a "Face" has officially set this as the music for this battle. xD "On it," Arthur replies, melee attacking Rosier's Right Arm with his Icy Halberd from the Front Row. "Can someone destroy Reflecting Root A so that this actually works? Pretzel, I need you in the Front Row with me, think you can take out some of those vines and then throw another Sleep Bomb at the end of the Round? Miracle Worker, you've done us proud, just try to stay the course a little longer. Lady Luck, same to you, a couple more daggers thrown at the Remedying Roots would not go awry." If his first attack does not defeat the Right Arm, Arthur repeats, otherwise he melee attacks Rosier's Left Arm with his Icy Halberd from the Front Row. If somehow disarmed, he retrieves his thrown weapons instead. OOC: 3,168 damage on a Hit, or an even 3,600 damage on a Critical, assuming Pretzel takes the Front Row with me and at least two other Heroes. Edited October 13, 2018 by Flipz Quote

Flipz Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 "Oh, by the way Atramor, you should put anyone attacking the Right Arm after whoever throws the Sleep Bomb for the round and everyone else before the Sleep Bomb; for this reason, no one with area-effect damage abilities should target the Right Arm. If we manage that, we should be able to guarantee that even if we all get put to sleep, Rosier can't capitalize on it." The Skirmisher frowns for a moment, thinking, then continues. "If you want, you can have exactly one Hero attack the Right Arm before the Sleep Bomb, to try and capitalize on Jinxed before the Sleep Bomb replaces it...actually, it should probably be you, since you're Lucky at the moment and we could probably make decent use of that equipment here if you swipe it. Everyone else attacking that arm should definitely go after the Sleep Bomb, though." OOC: Pinging @CMPbecause this is a Battle Order issue. Quote

"Alright...having everything be Dim changes everything slightly - but we'll be fine! Throlar, don't know what your plan is, but here's what I'm thinking: Kiray, could you attack Nazgulie again? Petaldan, could you lob another Fire Bomb? Eric, could you finish off the "Twisted Eight," while I take on Periwinkle? Heckz, keep attacking yourself. Germ, you're doing great work on those Roots. Keep in mind - your Obsidian Scimitar will do double damage this round. Unless Heckz rolls badly and changes the weather. Still, though, keeping on those Roots will help the Center. Torald - attacking Heckz is a good choice. Ezeran, could you see if you can finish off Skuld? Throlar - maybe repeat what you did last round?"
