Atramor watches the Founders disappear into the clouds of spores, and at last steps out of the shadows beneath Rosier's vines to rejoin the party from his hiding place.

"YOU THINK YOU CAN HALT ME HEROES THROUGH BARGAINS WITH HIGHER POWERS? YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF GRAVELY MISTAKEN!"

" 'Higher powers?' "

Atramor tosses the archdemon summonstone into the air briefly and catches it again, holding it aloft for a brief moment.

"This is one of your sisters."

He then stows the stone, and draws his claws.

"I think it's 'bout time we finish this, mates."

QM Note: Free item usage only applies to the 1st round.

OoC - sorry guys, saw Hoke was Hastened last round. He will just consume the Titan Heart this round.  For some reason I am having a hard time following the battle. My apologies.

Kiray her surrounding heroes prep for their final assault making sure they are fully prepared as Lind drops Nagzulie and almost destroys the clone of Periwinkle in a single strike. Nearby, the archdemon and archangel work in tandem to bolster the heroes and slice through the defenses of the archdemon. Pretzel launches a seal bomb and then manages to scrounge up a small pile of gold. Nerwen further weakens Rosier as Skrall reverts to beast form and charges the demonic plant ripping vines left and right in bear form before switching back. Arthur downs consumables before taking up a defensive position. Atramor can't get close to his target and is pierced by two of the demons thorns. Dyric loosens multiple bolts at the monstrosity, but the darkened bolts seem to have no impact. Boomingham rushes up and with a mighty swing brings the full wrath of his deity down upon the seductress. Euflear joins in firing a load of fiery shrapnel into Rosier's face while Torc divebombs the demon letting loose a jet of flame. Benji rains down fiery arrows upon his quarry and Althior continues to blast piercing beams of light straight through the heroes final foe. Vindsval summons two planar allies to his side as Matthias ensures everyone stays on their feet with well timed healing. The demon shrinks back at the heroes power, before rallying some inner strength to once more assault the heroes.

Atramor lurches backward as he's shot through by a pair of thorns, dropping his weapons as he steps back. But just as soon as he's hit he's healed, and the rogue gives a firm nod in thanks to Matthias, wiping the sap and spore from the holes in his coat as he appraises Rosier.

@Waterbrick Down OoC: I wasn't able to change my action in time - could we assume that Lind followed what Throlar said? Not trying to break the rules, just couldn't make it in time.

Also, did you remember to calculate the extra x2 from my Netherwings? I'm still not sure the correct order to calculate things in, but if I attacked Periwinkle only, she should definitely be dead, and I think that if I used the Bifrost Blades, they're both dead.

"Drat it, Atramor," Lind chuckled. "I've been waiting this whole quest long to try and loot her! You're pilfering my chance!" He laughed.

He shrugged.

"Just tell her, 'This battle?

It's all in the cards.'"

OoC: Just saying - we might want to let one of our Black Knights - or Atramor - loot her first, before she's Decamatized.

Checking the rules:

Quote

15 GP:
Decamodifier
(Transforms an enemy with a quarter or less health left into a Decamon card when used, if there is a corresponding card. The monster will not drop anything if it is modified. Tool.) *1 per hero*

Quote

10000 Gold, Armor of Thorns (SP: 15, Can have venom applied to it and deal poisoned when taking damage, Headwear, Torsowear, Legwear), Shield of Roses (SP: 10, Immunity to Poison, Hexed, and Enamored), 3x Level Up Shroom

That's a lot of really great loot to give up - and when you remember that all of us will Steal 50% More Gold - that's even more.

QM Note: Round adjusted. Lind targeted Periwinkle. I shouldn't be allowing folks to change their action after the round, neither is it up to other players to change another players actions. I didn't allow it for Dryic, I can't allow it for Lind I'm afraid.

Atramor closes his eyes for a second, then reopens them.

"This ain't a death. This is just her physical body, Euflear. We can do with that whatever we want, what matters is banishin' her soul to Azazot permanently after this is dealt with that. That part is...harder." He looked sideways at the fey. "So let us have this much, huh?"

"Revenge? Do not patronize me Throlar, I have lived far too many years and seen far too many deaths to stoop to such pettiness. No this monstrosity does not even deserve my own sorrows, it deserves a justice that ceases its existence such that not even the memory of it persists."

"Never. The memory of it must persist. The memory of it will live on in a thousand storied tales and a thousand bitter drinks as Eubric, Heroica, the Fey Plane, and many others remember the evil that threatened and the ones that died as a result. Forgetfulness is death to us, not to Roosier. As Master Atramor pointed out, this demon belongs in Azazot, and it makes no difference here whether she is memorialized on a Decamon card or physically smashed into a thousand pieces. We who are human will remember this, and she will die. Do not be blind to this reality." The gnome's voice is deep, with comforting notes sounding over a hard edge.

"We'll be kicking it down the road no matter what we do," said Throlar diplomatically, "demons can't be killed in any real sense. Defeating their physical forms simply banishes them to Azazot until someone summons them again. In fact imprisoning it in the card may be the only way to stop them for any length of time. It's not a permanent solution but it's frankly better than the alternative."

"Besides, there is a certain lyrical irony in using the power of a demon against the demon's very purposes."

"Oh, I know about that. Daddy always said that when you're fighting someone bigger than you, you have to use their strength against them...not sure what that means though, but speaking of the Pandemonium...oh, maybe I shouldn't talk in front of the demon."

Petaldan quickly covers his mouth with his hands.

At the mention of the forbidden book's name, Arthur suddenly jolts.  "Shame we don't still have Byblos," he says casually.  "As I recall, he was able to seal away demons permanently, if sufficiently weakened like this.  Oh, well, at least the other group can definitely bomb the last Aspect to death and join this fight properly before it's all over."

Indeed, quite the ace in the hold, Whisperer. Best hold that thing steady, Atramor, can't look like we're bluffing.

Though, I gotta say, Atramor, I can't argue with Euflear. Seems to me we've got Rosier on the ropes, and while her head won't make as nice a memento mori as Vonnetatte's, removing it won't be any less satisfying.
