Frequenzberater Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Great to see you are back :) Even the autorun module is a piece of art Quote
Shiva Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Cheers for the update! Somehow I managed to avoid "Any new updates?", but it was... hard! Quote
Techniccrack Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 thnx Update I worked on the dress up of the model, detailing and further improvements on the clock and autorun module i added trans tiles on it for the looks, also a led strip is added on the 'tower' and around the clock (not on photo). When the clock starts tikking, the lights lit up. When the model starts running the lights will be turned of. All due the auto run module here a photo of it: Automatic fences I figured, would it be nice to make automatic fences around the model. so i did. Not all fences but 4 sections of the pizzapieces i have rebuild to make this work. From the autorun module there is a extra switch added that operates a servo motor. that servo will activate the 4 axles hat are connected to the 4 "fence door plates" So a few second the polyp will start moving, the fence doors will be closed automatically. When the polyp stops the doors will ben opened. a few photos: A open/ close mechanism that will be places under the pizzapiece: The servomotor with the axles (placed under the mid frontpizza piece: ] A part of the groundfloor with 2 fence doors closed: And open: Also a extra switch i have added on the manual controller This was it for now To be continued! Subblaffer Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 This thing is a beast! Once you think this spider is already super cool, then the TS comes with new ideas. Brilliant!!! One question: I'm curious to how you made the drag contact to the main cilinder. Can you show us a picture of how you did that? Quote
Techniccrack Posted July 21, 2019 Author Posted July 21, 2019 (edited) Video update To show how the Auto run module works, ive made a small video Enjoy! Edited July 21, 2019 by Techniccrack Quote
m00se Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Not only did you build one of the greatest funfair recreations I've ever seen, you also add a "computer" to manage the timings. Impressive! Quote
Ankoku Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 When are we getting the good quality video of the Kraken in action? I have been gagging for that video for so long! :) Amazing work as always! Quote
Techniccrack Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) Time for a little update. Timing of lifting last weeks bus with the setup of the autorun module. the timing is everything. especially with the lift operation. the hub is pushing a lever in the cilinder that activate the lift. the duration of the activation of the liftlever is very very important. Also when the lifthead goes down, the process must be exactly the same as going up. So that was a struggle to accomplish. but i figured it out. this is the autorun lift module part: A little explanation: the hub goes around in the cilinder. the hub pushes a lever that set a switch to 1 side. the lifthead is going upwards that swich also activates the m motor you see in the picture. there is a pushrod with two end 90 degerees apart from eachother. the pushrod starts turning and pushes the switch back after 14 seconds. the lift stops on the other end of the cilinder there is aso a lever that pushes the switch, but now the other direction. the process starts again, lift is going down, the pushrod is rotating and pushes the switch back. the duration of this is also excactly 14 seconds, so the lifthead will be going back to the starting position since the motor is running always te same speed, the duration of the lifting will be the same. Timer clock Also the rest of the timerclock is configured now. all switches are operating perfect. also a few leds added (also the eye want something:) a photo how the clock looks now: the long led light will be changing color during the running of the clock backstage Also the backstage is now finished. A decided that it is better to make this full out of Lego elements, and not a print or whatever. Also the spiderweb theme is added to this so here is how it looks: ttats it for now. more to come Edited August 31, 2019 by Techniccrack Quote
Techniccrack Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Update Cash cabin The cash cabin is finished. simple design. only a few detaii decials (price board etc) must be added the cashcabin is also lightened (automatically) when the fences open, the cashcabin will be light up green. when the fences closes, the cashcabin will light up red. heres a picture [ to be continued! A lot of things had be done the last few weeks. Stage, fences, the look, cash cabin, the Auto run module. a couple of changes on the head (new turntable), fixed the electrical problems, new electric contact ring around the cilinder. Stage The logo is now lightened. the word Turbo has a running light in it. heres how it looks: Progress on building of the whole stage: Fences: I change the speed of opening en closing of the fences, due a mechanism in the auto run module. Also a green lights under the stairs is lightend up when te fences are opening. (video shortly) Cash Cabin Dressed up the cash cabin a nice way: Auto run module A big update is for the Auto Run module / timer There a are 2 cilinders added on the device. One for operating of the fences. And one for operation of the main cilinder with different speed I want the model start slowly and speed up. also slowing down at the end before it stops: I have to cover the mechanics al little,, but here it is:(a little out of control:) A video how it operates coming shorlty Electric contacts Finished up the copper ring around the main cilinder. 2 half beam 4l, will be sliding against the copper rings for power the lightning on the model And a Announcement: Friday the 1th of november Final video of the Turbo Spider So be prepared, its gonna be a kickass ride! Shiva Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Nice! Techniccrack, I rather thought.. what if the "i" used a different shade of colour, compared to the rest of the letters? So it would not risk to blend into the T? But still keeping the current distance between the 2 letters? It looks great as it does now too. Quote

Subblaffer Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 This thing is going to be insane! There's one thing I notice; on most pictures the floor has cracks. The plates don't seem to actually fit perfect together, or do they? Can't wait for the final video!! Quote

Techniccrack Posted November 3, 2019 Author Posted November 3, 2019 Final video Viral. I proudly presents: Final Run of the Turbo Spider. Ofcourse the model will be upgraded. But Here is the result of 4 years building and developing. tip: Watch the whole video:) Quote
Ankoku Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) I was literally checking your YouTube channel today to see if you had posted anything. @Techniccrack You may want to put a strobe warning at the start of the video, that strobbing at the end is pretty intense and might trigger some people. Amazing work and it is great to see cool and high quality video to show it off. Congratulations! Edited November 3, 2019 by Ankoku Quote
gvo25 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Really fantastic build, great lighting and very nice video with great sound, simply stunning!!!! congrats Quote
Techniccrack Posted November 3, 2019 Author Posted November 3, 2019 thnx. What ive done is added the cross lighting. a nice detail, but there is a problem with it. some leds have changed intp red for some stupid reason (you can see it in the video). i tested the leds, all blue..i connected it on the arms...2 turned red :( I will change all the led in the crosses into red. it looks better. The model will be on the workbench the next months, to make it even better, I will rebuild the excentric into a little more compact size and better looking. Here a some shots of the Spider full lightened and smoke [ More updates will be there in the next months Quote
m00se Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Amazing! +1 for the terrible funfair music ;-) Can you add some high-res pictures of the final model? Quote
