Excellent! The game looks promising. I'm kinda disappointed that they didn't fiddle around with Killer Croc - he's an awesome character. Just look at this:

Croc01.jpg

Freaky, eh? I do believe TLG could have done better.

Anyways, I can't wait for the demo!

EDIT: ANd another thing: Batgirl is mentioned on the official site, and there is a mysterious silhouette with a ? on it, so....perhaps we'll get the batgirl!

Hmm I've bought the last few games for PS2 and Wii, but I'm considering a change for this. Does anybody own Lego Star Wars / Indiana Jones for the PSP? If so, is there actually any content missing, or is it literally the whole game handheld? If it is, I might grab this for the Portable, I need a good game to play on the go ^^.

-- Andrex

The games on the handhelds have kept on improving, with Indiana Jones being the best yet, bar it having the same gripes as the console versions for some. As far as I can tell (I don't own it) there doesn't seem to be any major changes, and that should stay the same for Lego Batman, bar the obvious graphical downgrade on the handhelds. You shouldn't be at too much of a disadvantage to get the PSP version, just check the reviews when it's out. I say not too much of a disadvantage, but you own a PSP so...

EDIT: Actually, the PSP version of Indy featured no multiplayer, so you should bear that in mind if it's a vital component and the mistake isn't rectified for Batman.

Now if only they'd given him two different guns...

That really is sweet. So very Harley, yes, but so very sweet regardless.

Actually, TLG's version is quite accurate to some versions/interpretations of the character.

I've seen some videos of the last two Lego games for the PSP, and they looked practically identical to the console counterparts =D. About multiplayer.. that was what I loved most about LSW.. not so much with Lego Indy. I think my friends are getting fed up with me and my Lego games now =P. I'll see how it is. It's either PSP or Wii - reviews probably would be a good idea.

Awesome new vids by the way!

Man, this game is looking so cool! And it actually seems really dark in certain areas - playing as villians and fighting cops that are shooting at you with semi-realistic guns rarely is seen in a kids game. :sweet:

Funny, I think that the actual minifig looks a lot like that picture - scaly, evil, and lizardlike.

As if! His twin .45 pistols are a comic trademark!

Exactly, so sweet and lovable, yet still enjoying Joker's evil plots

Actually, TLG's version is quite accurate to some versions/interpretations of the character.

I agree, Killer Croc is a man with a bizarre skin disorder who filed his teeth into points, not a monster. One of the things I hate in Hush was Lee's dinosaur Croc.

Man, this game is looking so cool! And it actually seems really dark in certain areas - playing as villians and fighting cops that are shooting at you with semi-realistic guns rarely is seen in a kids game. :sweet:

I disagree about rarely being in a kids game, but it is looking to have a brilliant balance of dark and light, a great Gotham.

But because it's Lego, it's perfectly alright.

I see what you mean though, it does look to have some dark bits. I wonder if we'll see Batbrick's eponymous prostitute at all...

As if! His twin .45 pistols are a comic trademark!

No of course, I accept that. But it's always bothered me that a man obsessed with duality and the difference between his two halves carries twin guns, rather than two different ones.

New gameplays:

I'd so like to say that it's always good to see new footage, but the second two are quite difficult to see, and that first one is really quite boring in parts...

Yes! It's like our internet lives are like the comics we read, so many references to enjoy!

And about the prostitute, we can only hope!

No of course, I accept that. But it's always bothered me that a man obsessed with duality and the difference between his two halves carries twin guns, rather than two different ones.

I disagree, Two-Face is not just about everything being different of you end up with the Batman Forever Two-Face. Plus twin pistols is plain badass, which as we know, looks plain cool in Dark Victory. You do have DV now don't you?

I agree, Two-Face was totally underused even if his bomb charges were cool. Nice to see Clayface though, however I'm a bit disappointed at riddler leading one group, as he is a schemer yes, but Two-Face would have none of that nonsense in HIS gang. Maybe he's just gonna usurp him or something......please.....

Here's a new article on Lego Batman here.

Thanks for that, quite interesting, really goes to show this is going ot be the best of the games with the best backgrounds and gameplay.

Sorry if this was posted before, but I found on Amazon.de the Batman Game. The prices are the same like from Indy-Game and it´s listed to be released in October.

Something that I can´t understand with this game is, that it takes incredible long to be made. It takes even longer than The Force unleashed and Batman is just a LEGO game!

Is there a reason for the endless waitingtime?

Well then it'll be better than Force Unleashed!

And it comes out September 23, that's probably a typo.

Do you think they'll reveal the remaining villains beforehand or wait and let people find them in the game?

Thanks for that. The best bit of the article? The bit where it says they have a genuine Bat-fan on the team. Yes! That means this game will be packed with stuff Batbrick and I can enthuse about.

Fair point. And no, I don't have it yet. I can't find that either.

The bit that got me was Riddler trying to get up that ladder. Or not trying to get up that ladder as the case may be.

however I'm a bit disappointed at riddler leading one group, as he is a schemer yes, but Two-Face would have none of that nonsense in HIS gang. Maybe he's just gonna usurp him or something......please.....

But, Joker, Riddler and Penguin are probably the most prominent Bat-villains, and are the most well-known to non-fanboys and casual fans. It makes sense to have those three lead the villains.

And it comes out September 23, that's probably a typo.

Argos in the UK says the game's out on September 26th, so I'd imagine it'll be around those two dates sometime.

Do you think Bane may be a hero, Because he is seen killing henchman on the offical site.

I shouldn't think so. It's probably just a free play thing.

He did turn good in the comics aswell though didn't he?

Sort of, for a bit. He thought he and Batman might share Thomas Wayne as a father, so stayed with him for a while helping him fight crime and take down some drug cartels. He later found out he was not related to Batman and left Gotham on good terms with Batman, and with his financial backing. He went to the mountains once more looking for his father. He eventually found him... King Snake. He then helps the Bat-family agaqinst King Snake, saving Batman from a bullet. Bane, wounded, is immersed in a Lazarus Pit by Batman and healed. He leaves, clean and renewed.

He then turns up in Infinite Crisis #7, and breaks Judomaster's back in the Battle of Metropolis, saying "I finally know who I am. I am Bane. I break people." He then faces off against Hourman. He claims to be addicted to a new strain of Venom (he kicked the habit years before) and seeks Hourman's expertise in chemistry. This turns out to be a lie, and he had instead killed the drug cartels and destroyed everything he could on Venom. He finds out that Venom was derived from Hourman's Miraclo compound, and plans to kill the first Hourman and force the second to take the remaining Venom and forever be addicted. They escape and he is buried accidentally in the Santa Priscn prison he grew up in.

He runs for democratic election in Santa Prisca, but declares martial law when he discovers the elections are rigged. This causes a civil war. Later on, Amanda Waller recruits him into the new Suicide Squad. He later ends up on the prison planet in Salvation Run, allied with Lex Luthor.

For the first time recently, this wasn't all from memory.

That and he's been seen on screenshots with the Penguin.

Ah! I finally preordered my copy ^^. For PSP, as I mentioned earlier =D. Probably best I did that so I don't change my mind later =P. I look forward to this title greatly! I also managed to find all those Man Bat screens x_x I guess those were released whilst I was away for a month.

Man i wish i could know i was definaltey getting like you Andrex (preorder) but i dontreally want to do that cause im trying to get a PS3 lol.

Thanks for that BB!

Another thing i hope for is that the bosses arent push-overs but it doesnt look like that will change...

Quite alright. I've been on a roll these past few days.

I assume it'll be the same as in the other games, meaning the boss levels will be as easy or hard as the other levels. To be honest though, I think I like it that way.

Oh yes! Let's hope for comics, animated and 60's Adam West references :cry_happy:

Have you read it yet? I thought you had...

The bit that got me was Riddler trying to get up that ladder. Or not trying to get up that ladder as the case may be.

Yeah, that was rather boring, you have to wonder who is playing this thing

But, Joker, Riddler and Penguin are probably the most prominent Bat-villains, and are the most well-known to non-fanboys and casual fans. It makes sense to have those three lead the villains.

I disagree, most well known maybe, but certainly not prominent. Two-Face aptly enough is easily the second most prominent Bat villain, he walks over Penguin. And Riddler hasn't had many of his own stories at all really, atleast in modern continuity. Go Two-Face I say.

For the first time recently, this wasn't all from memory.

Ha! Such a stupid way to deal with Bane really. He has an awesome gimmick in his Venom addiction, his greatest strength and weakness, yet the writers rehabilitate him and send him on a soul search!

I assume it'll be the same as in the other games, meaning the boss levels will be as easy or hard as the other levels. To be honest though, I think I like it that way.

Awesome, how many bosses are there usually? Can we expect each villain to be a boss?

Well we know Batman's going to dance at some point, so with any luck they'll have made it the Batusi.

No, not yet. Just TLH.

I see what you're saying, but to an outside market, to someone who is only a casual fan of the Bat-mythos, to someone who isn't either me or you, it's best to have Joker, Riddler and Penguin. Before TDK at least, my dad for instance, could identify those three, but not Two-Face.

Awesome, how many bosses are there usually? Can we expect each villain to be a boss?

On the other games, the last level of the 6 is the boss level. Across the other 5 there are 'semi-bosses' which take up parts of the level, but not all of it like the 6th chapter.

So we can assume that the boss on the last level of each chapter is the villain who's leading that team. On the Heroes game at least.
