Hi,

I tried to post this in the buy, sell, trade forum but wasn't allowed to. I assume its because I have not made enough posts in other forums to start a new thread there.

Anyway my question is this: What method does Lego shop at home use for delivery in the UK? The reason I ask is that since I am at work all day and will not be in to recieve any deliveries. If it is sent Royal Mail thats easy enough since I can pick it up from the sorting office down the road but if its a courier thats more of a pain since I always seem to end up spending days chasing them to get my stuff and it might be easier to get it sent to a different address. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine always arrive by DHL around 2-3 days from the shipped date, they always come via Germany. I've missed one once and it only took a couple of days to get it redelivered. DHL are usually pretty good for that.

Yes, but those couple of days are really annoying. You could have built it in that time.

If no-one's home, DHL will leave it with a neighbour, which not every other company will do.

JSN: you're right that you can't post in the "BSTF" are because you're too new. However, since you arn't looking to buy or sell on this forum, I think that this is correct area anyway.

Thanks for the help guys. Are DHL used for express shipping only or standard and express? I am just going to go for standard since I will not be near my town for a couple of weeks so I don't see the need to pay extra for express(that and the money saved going standard means I can spend more on sets!)

ParcelForce for me 9 times out of 10, just this morning it was PF *y*

I've had one ParcelForce and one DHL order so far. DHL were easy to rearrange delivery. ParcelForce were a bit of a mare (they sent it to a Post Office that I can only get to with very expensive parking and refused to send it to the Post Office I wanted them to).

I've just come back from picking an order up as ParcelForce cannot delivery properly >:-( I've found if you pay for express you get DHL if you opt for economy you get ParcelForce and all that that result in.

Hope that helps.

Must be relevant to where you live then, out here on the East Coast it's always been DHL for every order I've placed over the years, all standard delivery too..

I live in London, so I don't know if that makes a difference though there is a DHL depot not to far away

Thanks again for the help. Got my order yesterday. For those who are interested it was shipped Parcel Force and arrived in Aberdeen on Monday but I had to wait till yesterday to collect it. Now have Market Street and Town Plan to incorporate into my city. I would have got Green Grocer but I placed my order one day too early :-( I will take some pics over the weekend if I can and update my thread in the Trains and Town forum for anyone who wants to see.
