"Ah, yes." said Throlar turning to the fey, "On that note, we came here to discover what had happened to one of the founding veterans of Heroica. "The Dark Druids, we don't know how, but they've established some sort of refinery where they can extract the dust from the land and from... ourselves." "Allow me to show you." With a flick of his wrist, Haverti creates glowing miniature figures of fairies and the world they live in out of the dust in the air. As the fairy narrates the models follow his story. "From yourselves...?! That...is truly awful. Do you know if any are being held...or 'being used'...at this Tower?" Lind watched Haverti's light display. "That is as beautiful as the other is terrible. Tell me - how large can you make those? They could possibly make a very useful distraction, if they were as big as a human - perhaps even give us a chance to enter unseen." 15 hours ago, Lord Duvors said: "Ah, an archdemon. Not good." He remains silent as the group prepares to go to sleep, and goes over to the side to keep watch over the group as they go to sleep. Lind noticed the glance, but didn't instantly respond. He supposed, perhaps, it wasn't the peak of politeness, to use a Magic Shovel without asking - not that anyone else had ever taken any offense - but if it truly offended the fairies so much so as to tell him, he would cheerfully stop. And if the former Beast Warrior was mad over the loot remark...well, poor heroes had to make do with what they could get. He had never had any connection to the fae, and he had only ever met one fairy - one who had gone out of her way to complain at him over his Netherwings. To him, this was just another faceless location - it wasn't quite reasonable to expect more from him than a reasonable politeness. Beyond any loot payment he might get from saving it, he had no investment at all in the place. That being said...that fairy did seem rather...what was a polite way of putting it? Certainly not 'touchy'. Perhaps...'excitable'? Maybe they did things differently in the Fae. Maybe the standard of 'reasonable politeness' here was measured differently than in the other dimension. Maybe he should be watching his own actions as much as he had Throlar's. Either way, it would be better to try and head off any problems before they happened... Picking up his pack, he stopped digging, and approached Flare. Reaching into his bag(making sure to take it from his own stash, instead of the earlier pickings), he pulled out a bottle. "Hey. You look thirsty. Would a refreshing Remedy help?" On 5/6/2018 at 11:08 PM, Flare said: "...as I returned to my elvish roots. I felt the call to search out my faerie brethren..." OoC: So, are fairies and elves related? Or does Benji just feel a connection to them, due to both races being highly magical? Quote

OoC: Benji is now of the Prophet class, and his spiritual capabilities enabled him to travel to the fae realm where he connected with the fairies to fight against the Dark Druids. So no he is not at all fairy, but as a being of a higher spiritual calling he feels a connection to the fairies and has spent a good amount of time with them. Benji looks at the ex-hero, amused. "Thanks, but keep your remedy for when you need it, since the dark druids invaded the realm it has been best to stay alert, you never know when something could jump you. Speaking about surprises, how did you all react to the whole revolution deal in Heroica? It seems a tad bit odd to me. Unfortunately my vision is clouded and it is difficult for me to discern the end of this conflict. The paths are many, and our choices could affect the very thread of time itself." Quote

Working with the Wolfgang has been helpful in getting through it." Quote

It's kind of a funny story, actually. I came back to Heroica about two weeks ago, by our time - but business was horribly slow at the Hall, so I thought I'd slip down into the sewers for a bit of freelance work, regarding local Phlegmen. Came up early this afternoon, only to find out the whole town had gone crazy - the Hall disbanded, the Watch stopping people in the street - I had to duck into a local bar, just to avoid them. Luckily, I ran into everyone else just leaving, else I don't know what could have happened. The craziest part? The whole time I was down there, I could have died and not even understood what was happening to me. We used to be covered by the Nornalis...now we aren't. I'm genuinely worried for any heroes that didn't get the message to stay clear of danger...at least some of them must be using their former powers to 'live on the edge'... Can't deny that it's all odd, very odd - and I'd never pin the Union, and especially the Shadeaux, to be up to the tricks they're both accused of." He shrugged. "Honestly, it all feels less like 'thread of time'...and more like end of time. Like we're observers to the very end of something great." He shrugged again. Quote

"It happened, that's all I can say. It was probably going to end sooner or later anyway, though I wasn't expecting it to be so... dramatic. I'd just expected Heroica to slowly peter out and die rather than explode." Quote
Asphalt Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 You have changed much in your journeys Carverhall. To hear you speak of visions and prophets. . . it is a strange path indeed. We shall speak again later Master Carverhall, I believe we will have time on our journey to this dark tower. Vindsval pulls out his bedroll and attempts to sleep for a time. Quote

Duvors Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 (OOC: WBD, I now have a photo for Throlar, you can find it in my stats.) "Karie," said Throlar as the group trudged towards their destination, "I notice you're in possession of a Spring Staff that you are incapable of using that I feel would be better off in my possession if you're willing to part with it. Skrall, you mentioned that you plan to be using your sword rather than your bows for the duration, if that's so you may want to lend Kiray your Mythril Composite Bow and Mythril Hunter's Crossbow. Also, everyone with spare gems, we have no elemental spellcasters in the party, but I am currently in possession of a Scroll of Elemental Aura that allows me to make it so that the target only does damage of one element of my choice for the duration of the battle. Unfortunately it requires me to be in possession of the necessary elemental gem for each element and currently my equipment only allows me access to Ice and Darkness. Now several of you are in possession of spare gems that you have no use for, if you were to give me some I would have more elements at my disposal for when I use this scroll. Alternatively we could give the gems and the scroll to someone with more ether than myself. On that note, Benji, I have a spare Scroll of Frailty as well as a Scroll of Minimizing that requires too much ether for me to use effectively, as a ether user you could make use of them." Quote

Karie passed Throlar her Spring Staff. On May 8, 2018 at 2:41 PM, Lind Whisperer said: "Honestly, it all feels less like 'thread of time'...and more like end of time. Like we're observers to the very end of something great." He shrugged again. "It's the end of the world if you want it to be, Lind, although if nothing we do is going to stop it, why are we here in the Faerie? Why risk so much if nothing we do will stop it?" Karie replied. She looked directly at Lind to make sure he was paying attention to what she had to say. "Food for thought." Quote
Duvors Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 (edited) (WBD, did we gain any experience from solving that puzzle earlier? I noted it in my stats as if I had because that's how you normally do it, but looking back I see you didn't make any mention of it nor did you change what you had written down for our stats. Also, I removed the Infernal Armor and my Weathered Shield so I shouldn't absorb fire and be immune to ice.) 44 minutes ago, Palathadric said: "Throlar, I believe you can equip another artifact. Take this Darksteel Armour. ...Benji, do you want this Imperial Prophet's Armour?" "Err, no Pretzel, I can't equip more than three... which is the number I'm wearing right now. Also, that armor is strictly inferior to the Infernal Armor you already lent me and occupies the same space so I think I'll pass. However I believe you have some gems I could use with my Scroll of Elemental Aura." 33 minutes ago, Kintobor said: Karie passed Throlar her Spring Staff. Asphalt Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Vindsval walks along the path, taking in as much as he can of the new place, the new World. I feel I do my Lord Proud. Certainly I am the first of his followers since the days of old to walk these lands. He addresses the fae nearest him. Tell me winged one, my mother's people in the ice north have many tales of the fae and their interactions of the land of men. Do any of your legends speak of the Giants of the Frozen Lands? Quote

(I'm looking at your spell items) (That's a mistake, WBD has accidentally listed several of Pretzel's gems in my inventory. I've informed him of the mistake but apparently he hasn't fixed it yet.) "Pretzel, Kiray, and Lind, all of you have spare gems you cannot use. I suggest that you lend them to either myself or Benji. For reference the elements I currently have are water, ice, and darkness. Pretzel, you specifically have an Etherial Opal that I suggest you give to Benji, while he already has access to ice elemental magic your opal has an ability to make enemies fragile that only he can make use of."
