January 31, 20196 yr Chromed chimney is very nice addition. Just one thing - due to scale based on tires (1:15.5; tires on real CASE IH 6388 are some 1676mm "big"), front bonnet should be about 6 studs wide, so what is your idea how to achieve it (with liftarm or panel thickness of 1 stud since you have l-motor caged within 5 studs wide structure)?
January 31, 20196 yr Author Plan is to use large tiles.. Not sure if these are available and/or will work though. Also I want to change the cab, the beams look to 'open' for my taste.. Just want to try some options and go from there I guess..

Just want to try some options and go from there I guess.. since beams are "to open", I suggest you to use panels (there is a bunch of panels in 42029 set - just example) I'll start working on bonnet as soon as I finish cab; but for cab I need some extra parts which should arrive to me at the end of next week (8th February) and perhaps I could you give some idea... I'm sad that even smallest ever Steiger stx (275) uses bigger tires, so I can not make it because it uses Group 46 tires (1855mm in overall dimater); 480/80R42, 520/85R38, 650/65R38...) and we do not have LEGO tires with 123mm overall diameter, just 107mm...but there is another red tractor that I'll start building right after I finish Fastrac... January 31, 20196 yr Author I'm not sure if panels are an option. Most of them are pretty big and don't come in the right shape. But like I said; I'll try some different options to see what looks best.42029 is a good suggestion. I was already looking at 42082 for parts (and awesome set ofcourse) but since I just bought 42055 my LEGO budget pretty much evaporated. I am certainly going to check on the solutions you will come up with for your JCB. Especially because i'm still pretty new to the studless/panel building method. The remark about the Steiger I don't quite understand. When using the 107mm tires can't you just adjust the scale accordingly to make the wheels fit the tractor? I saw that @eric trax with these wheels made a beautiful John-Deere which is in the same HP/size range I think? Edited January 31, 20196 yr by Sjoemie himself typo

January 31, 20196 yr Author Aha I see. I didn't know that you only build in this one scale. 17 minutes ago, I_Igor said: You are welcome to follow my tread Already done!

January 31, 20196 yr Cool, but to make it more like real thing, you can replicate (a bit smaller) solution from 42069; it used technic triangle type 2, and drive wheel and idler wheels are held together with triangle shaped structure.
January 31, 20196 yr Author Great suggestion! I knew I saw those tracks in LEGO form somewhere but funnily enough I couldn't remember where

My John Deere is on a scale of 1:18, which is a bit smaller than it usually builds and because the tires have 107 mm. @Sjoemie himself like working on your model. You chose an interesting tractor to build. I am waiting for the final result :)
February 1, 20196 yr Author @I_Igor thank you, you are right. I was on several forums before this one. Unfortunately they kind of bled out because of people resorting to Facebook to post and share. Since I don't use that I'm glad that this forum has many members who are active. @eric trax thank you very much. I've looked at your models for inspiration many times. I especially like that you combine technic and system elements so well. I'm hoping to post a new update tomorrow or sunday.
