Hey everyone,

Today I present the video for my Bucket Boost module.  This module was previously seen in my "Greyline Layout video" but now receives it's own feature.

This was the second module I ever built, and took quite a bit of time throughout 2017 to get built.  I ended up building the prototype mechanism 3 times to get it right.  After that I had to build the ball indexer that would be synced to the first cup.  The last things I worked on was revising the input bin and the output splitter.

It is powered by an XL motor due to the high amounts of torque needed to drive the gear stack which is connected to 4 axles that drive each lifting bucket.  It is fairly reliable, however it does tend to drop balls when it's sitting on an uneven surface.

Please enjoy the video.

This looks very clean, the buckets are moving quite fast and the hole bulid is pretty smooth, I like it very much. Great job!

What I don't get is, why you put a splitter in there?

I agree , nice clean build.

When the splitter is in view a comment is visible stating 'Great Ball Pit' doesn't like GBC modules without balls so it's to keep balls in the module.

I should have done this in the original post!  Here is an image of the drivetrain for this module.

As for the ball return, there is nothing worse in a public GBC layout display than an empty module.  The public will just skip over it and miss all the hard work you did.  So for a few of my modules I made sure they recirculated 50% of the balls.
