One of the downed pilots find refuge inside a closed hardware store. Luckily enough, the rescue team reaches the site exactly as the enemy finds his position.

Fun facts:

• The building design is heavily influenced from train carriages and the buildings of Tattoine (Star Wars).
• Many of the minifigs in this MOC were used by @paintballman in his CP5 MOCs and then mailed to me, in order to have the same level of details and a solid storyline.
• The container on the side of the building is hiding a power functions battery pack which powers up the lights in the hardware store!

• It took me a total of 3 days to make this MOC. I was at about 70% when I realized I had forgotten to install the hidden power funcions cables.

Judges’ comments…

This build has a great structure to it. I like the detailing inside the store, but it was hard to get a good feel inside because it was very tight. The outside of the building could have used a little more detail (and some more shots to show the outside as most were close ups.) Overall this was very well done.     

I liked this build, but I wanted more from you!  The hardware store itself was a great premise for the pilot to hide out.  The store itself has quite a few details, but I felt that the rest of the build was lacking...with the exception of the back (bikes and plants).  The yard felt a little smooth as well.  Feel free to add footprints for the patrols.  Close up photos in tihht spaces are difficult, no doubt.  And if you didn't know, I'm sure you do know.  The lighting is always tough to get right.  I will say this though...that last shot of the pilot peering through the door from inside...FANTASTIC!  That was so good I actually added an extra point for your presentation score!  Don't be scared of those details!!!    More details please!    

A good build with a very nice story, but it was missing a few things that could have taken it to the next level. Prints in the snow, for example, and the building seemed too clean and perfect. More like a showhouse than a hardware store. That said, you have some lovely action shots, and the overall design of the build is good.

I totally agree with all of you that the MOC needs more details. The truth is, I had a limited time to complete this and it was built in a single day. Also, I had two major... misfortunes that day! A) I was at about 50% when I realized that I had forgot to install the power functions cables (see hidden photo bellow) and B) only then did I realize that my white bricks are limited to what you see on the MOC and two more ziplock bags.

The awkward moment you realize that you forgot to install the power cables. 

 

I had to remove the baseplate (with the least possible damage to the MOC)...

 

...and rebuild the hardware store's main room.
