Now that we've seen the model from both sides, I'm kind of wondering what the other lever controls. The left lever is outriggers in and out, but what's the one on the right side? I can't tell from the other pictures, but I can think of a couple of things it could be. It could be for driving forward and back, like 42042, or, far more likely, slewing the superstructure. I dunno, but I'm so happy pics are starting to come out.

Yup, superstructure rotation. Seems there is some sort of ball between the two XL turntables.

Seems there's lots of small details, so not too surprising that it's hitting 4000 pieces.

This has been on my To Buy list since the first grainy pictures appeared. Now I've seen this new picture it's staying there.

Zooming way in on the pictures, 42082 definitely has two gear rack circles being used as a slew bearing. It also looks like some kind of ball joints or something else is being used in there as a bearing piece, but it's hard to say. I'm really surprised that Lego chose this solution, over 42055's simpler design, but this is more authentic, without being overly fiddly, like @shineyu 's design using 1x1 tiles.

Hmm, we have a 4-speed gearbox on the chassis and two other switches on the superstructure with left-right switching.

If the gearboxes are both bi-directional then there are not enough settings for all functions to be motorised - perhaps the outriggers are manual or rotation is.

Its  a "6 speeds" gearbox + a single 2 ways gearbox on the superstructure. And 2 gearbox on the chassis. 6 in total

Blindness...

Maybe Markus is too tired of making "the next big thing" for the past 7 years lol. 8110, 42009, 42043, 42055.

I never really care much about the bodywork, but I really like the way it turned out on the superstructure.  Layer or stacking the panels up like that is a neat idea.

The forklift sticker says MK IV so that is the one from Markus nice and small!

The most likely control scheme is:

The selector on the left of the 6H alow too choose to power the 6H or the gearbox on the chassis

the 6H gearbox control elevation/extension/winch both ways.

If the power run to the chassis, one gearbox control stabilisation extension, second one control turret rotation. both ways too
