Embargo date be damned, here's the full review (in German though)

9:46 The whole black section in the back open upwards with no unlocking, revealing the battery box and the L motor right next to it. And the BBox seems to be attached horizontally from the back.  That is surprising. I thought the BBox would slide downward like that in 42070.

11:00 OMG the outriggers retract at the speed of BWE going forward.... Maybe @Maaboo35 can indeed compose a sonnet while waiting

14:15 Supertructure can be rotated manually when the switch for rotation is disengaged.

And again, several civilizations reached their peak and fell while the outriggers were retracting.

Lucky for me, I won't do a video, because I wouldn't have had enough time to shoot the outriggers before the 1st of August

I look forward to your review ;-)

Thanks! All the information is already available, but at least you will get some nice pictures :hmpf_bad:

If the option is motorized outriggers that extend and retract painfully slowly, I'd rather have manual outriggers, lol.

Does the crane get lifted off the ground? If so then I understand making outriggers so slow. Either way it doesn’t bother me too much.

It's no need to own a crane even to understand they can't.

Hehe. Or slightly faster motorized ones

They are slow, but I think they do beat the 42009 (not sure). I don’t mind them being slow, since the rest of the functions work properly and you only deploy the outtiggers once. Although I would have loved slightly faster versions.

I dunno, maybe they gear it down so there’s less stress in the gearbox or something. I realise it’s probably unlikely since the outriggers use MLAs instead of big ones.

Anyway MLAs have not enough power to raise the crane.

I'm testing it in my model - 4 MLA can lift only chassis with links with superstructure without Battery boxes. And of course without heavy wheels.

I saw it in German Ebay for pre-order for 228 Euro

It was a one day offer around 10 days ago: 188 EUR but adapted to 185 for Luxembourgish VAT. The prices fluctuate on a nearly daily basis. You can use idealo.de to get an idea of the price evolution.

I'm still not sure about this set. I would have hoped for a smoother rotation of the main turntable, its very stop/start

Everybody keeps saying this and, respectfully, I just don't see it.

There is a difference between a jerky turntable on  a crane b/c of poor design, and then there is jerkiness just because of backlash, and that is it.  When due to the latter, this is not due to poor design per se but the mere fact that ABS is used.  Better design may occur by using less axle length, but there will still be some backlash, no matter how little axle length is used, when we are talking about a very large, heavy build.  Like this is.

I rather think the rotation of the superstructure is smooth. How do I arrive at this conclusion?  There is little to no rocking back and forth.  Which occurs when things are off-balance.  42009 had plenty of this.....
