danth Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 I thought it would be fun to have a thread just for sharing really awesome MOCs that other people created. I know looking at awesome stuff helps to get me inspired. My first ever Lego Space set was Starfleet Voyager. One really awesome Lego builder, Chris Giddens, created TWO remakes of this set that are both amazing! The first one is here: His more recent one is here: Two of my other favorite MOCs are by Peter Moris as part of his Classic Space Evolved set. This first one is remake of the Twin Starfire, a ridiculous set from the 80s that he made awesome: The other one I really like of his is his radical remake of FX Star Patroller, which is a mashup with the Mospeada Legioss & Tread (also known as the Robotech Alpha and Beta fighters): Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Hey, totally excellent topic @danth!!! It's cool that you should bring up Chris Giddens (a.k.a. Fazoom), as he at the time was a pretty prolific builder of Retro Rocketcraft. No one since then has built as many rocketcraft creations as he did. My favorite one is his Fazoom-O-Craft, which is still the swoopiest looking rocketcraft creation I have ever seen! By the way, is discussion of Steampunk/Dieselpunk/Atompunk/Sky-Fi/Retrofuturistic-type creations allowed here too? Quote

Sinthoras Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 (edited) One of my fovourite MOCs is Bob De Quatre's LJ-937 Wormhole Explorer. I love this spacecraft and his short backstory. At the time, he certainly loved to use that old Paradisa quarter dome part for many of his spacecraft. Other creations of his that utilized it included his Hoplab Mk-II and some older Pre-Classic Space themed spaceships. It's certainly great that the part is making its return for the Ideas Ship in a Bottle set. 1 hour ago, Sinthoras said: One of my fovourite MOCs is Bob De Quatre's LJ-937 Wormhole Explorer. I was only asking since some may consider those genres more fitting for Lego's Action/Adventure themed discussions here on Eurobricks. Particularly, when it comes to creations built within those genres, one of the best and most prolific builders of Retrofuturistic vehicular craft is Vincent Gachod (a.k.a. Vince_Toulouse). While not all of his work may fall into that description, for the most part, all his creations showcase beautiful and striking "nice part usage". The one you pictured is beautiful. So it's crazy how many of my favorite creations are by the same people. Chris Giddens again did this incredible Galaxy Commander remake which has all the gimmicks of the original, plus bothe front cockpits separate to become their own fighters! And Peter L Morris has an entire photostream full of starfighters he's made. I think the guy must have the world record on number of starfighters created! They're all awesome but this might be my favorite: Quote

Yeah, when it comes to Steampunk, I'm not really crazy about most creations, as they're usually too skeletal looking or too drab in their color choices. But when they end up looking like that mech...
