chewie Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 hey everyone i am wanting to maby make a mosiac of lego for me or a friend and i was wondering if anyone knows how to make or start one from a picture of me or my friend. thanks Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 12, 2005 Governor Posted June 12, 2005 First take the picture you want to make a moasic of and draw a grid to scale of the size you want the actual moasic to be. Then find suitable LEGO base plates that fit your scale. Beginning adding coloured bricks corresponding to the grid. Of course being LEGO you can build upwards and make it more like a collage. Plus not all the bricks need be square. It depends what you want. You might like to start by replicating images of simple things then gradually get more complex with the experience and knowledge you gain. Quote
chewie Posted June 12, 2005 Author Posted June 12, 2005 hey thanks mr phes have you made a mosaic befor? Quote
jonfett Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=3443&cn=60&d=14&t=7 You could try making one by using the 'Build you Own Mosaic' feature at S@H. Although it is not a great program, it may be helpful if it is your first one. Jon. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted June 13, 2005 Governor Posted June 13, 2005 Yes you may Master Yoda... And low and behold I found his Brickshelf gallery! For anyone else who is too dopey to read the fine print: The moasics are here! Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 This might be a little late (and you can ignore it if you already have the moasic), but you can always use the Moasic Designer in MLCAD, if you have the software. You just import the picture, and the software does the rest. It is very similar to the one that TLC produces. You can set the depth, size, detail, etc... Best of all, it's free and is available anywhere. ;) Quote
