sheo Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) I would like to present a model of a modern high-speed train based on Alstom's AGV in original livery. The model features Jacobs bogies, spacious interior and automatic doors. Thank you for your attention! Edited October 29, 2019 by sheo Quote
M_slug357 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 WOWwwww This is amazing!!! My only critique is the hatchet job done on the jacobs bogies... #masterpiece Thank you for sharing!! Quote
ColletArrow Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Stupendous! The amount of functionality crammed into this model, whilst keeping it highly detailed, is outstanding. I especially love the moving pantograph and doors. Well done! Quote

M_slug357 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Just now, sheo said: What do you mean? What did I do wrong? lol, You didn't do anything wrong! I was just poking a bit of fun at the fact that the bogies use actual hatchets on them...! Quote

Ex cinno Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 A piece of art, no other words to comment this masterpiece. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Outstanding train ...I love the sleek shape and how the whole convoy is full of amazing gadgets: lights, sliding doors, side panels.... Perfect works! Quote
JLSD Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 This is one sweet and inspiring build! Thanks for posting! Quote
deraven Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Wow! Beautiful all-around. Great shaping and NPU throughout. Well done! Quote
Asper Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Wow, incredible train! Its design is wonderful - and it has opening doors. Can you show some more details of the coupling? Quote
Paperinik77pk Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 shift key + a m a z i n g ! ! ! (read it as if I wrote it in all capital letters ) Those automatic doors - the pantographs...the seats!!! ...this is a great train! Quote
dr_spock Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Looks great. It would be nice if you could post a couple more photos, we can't watch YouTube at work. Quote
icemorons Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 @sheo Really nice work! I'd like to see how you synchronized all those doors! Good show! Quote

deraven Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Finally had a chance to watch the video- great mechanisms! Nicely integrated pantograph-raising mechanism, access to the battery box, etc., and I agree that I'd love to see more on how those doors work as well! Quote
fred67 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Fantastic use of power functions in a really beautiful looking train! It was just painful to watch going around those tiny radius curves. Quote
JopieK Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Marvelous design sheo, I think you could not have done a better job. How did you pull of the door mechanism (while still allowing the car to be removable). I also like the way you did the access to the interior. Quote
Younge Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 That build is just ridiculously good! Well done! I know it's a small thing, but I especially like the detail in those seats. I just wish Lego would release a train (one day) that had automatic doors like yours. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 That is simply brilliant! Very well done. Quote
sheo Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 Thanks for the comments everyone! 13 hours ago, Asper said: Can you show some more details of the coupling? The coupling uses this part put on two axle pins. 10 hours ago, icemorons said: I'd like to see how you synchronized all those doors! 4 hours ago, JopieK said: How did you pull of the door mechanism (while still allowing the car to be removable). There's a cardan shaft running through the train. Actually decoupling also requires disconnecting the shaft. I didn't show it in the video because it was difficult for me to shoot on camera. 6 hours ago, fred67 said: It was just painful to watch going around those tiny radius curves. It was only a demonstration of compatibility with standard Lego curves. I agree that the train needs large radius curves... and also a proper layout. Quote
JopieK Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Aha that's the trick. Very smart! Good use of LEGO Technic parts :) Maybe you could even add an option to be able to connect the pantographs to the same axis then? Quote
Trekkie99 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Wow! This is absolutely awesome! I love the opening doors. I think this deserves a spot on the front page! Thumbs up. Quote
