xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Tks for the info Mr.Bionicle ;) I'll move this topic into the Bionicle forum ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 12, 2005 Governor Posted June 12, 2005 This is an intereting direction for Bionicle... This looks reminiscent of the Knights Kingdom and Viking sets... This particular set looks like its half made from SYSTEM pieces. Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Even though i'm not a bionicle fan, i'm not sure they will like those bionicle minifigs!!! just one piece of plastic !!!! and a lot of systems parts !!!! Is tlc trying to expend the bionicle fans bvy rallying the systems fans with THIS !!!!! Doubtfull it is ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 12, 2005 Governor Posted June 12, 2005 "bvy" typo for "buy" or accronym that Mr Phes needs to know about??? Now onto the response: Mein Gott! They've <insert that tiresome argument> Bionicle now! Now the Bionicle fans will share the SYSTEM fans woes! But why would they include so much SYSTEM in Bionicle? Wasn't Bionicle sales performing fine without the need for a drastic change? Obviously LEGO must find new things to do with Bionicle but this seems a bit extremem, especially with similiar these sets have with Knights Kingdom and Vikings. What do the Bionicle fans think? Where's The Slob and Gamma? Quote
xwingyoda Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 a stupid typo Phes, no need to edit the acronym thread ;) OK, system fans think its stupid, come on Bioniclers out there, this is your forum, what do you think of those "4+" Bionicles ????? Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted June 13, 2005 Governor Posted June 13, 2005 this is pretty old news...we saw these at the toyfair Yeah, so what did you think of them? Do you dudes not have opinions on these sets or something? Or are you too scared to say whether you liked or disliked about them? You're all holding back! Is it just that you're too busy to give a detailed answer at the moment? Quote

Someone who has finally provided an opinionated response! Have you obtain many Bionicle sets in the past Chewie? And no, I'm not German. I only speak English but I occassionally use words from other language for something different. Quote
chewie Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 gott in hemel!!......i have the very first 6 bionicle that came out they were pretty cool at the time but now bionicle is just blah (in my opinion) so yes i have bought bionicle sets befor but i dont anymore Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 13, 2005 Governor Posted June 13, 2005 At what point did you consider Bionicle to go "blah" Perhaps many others had a similiar opinion and this is why we're seeing more SYSTEM pieces in these latest Bionicle sets. Quote
KMOI Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 For me, Bionicle began to tank when they introduced the seventh toa. Yeah, the six original toa had a walking flashlight to lead them. Then it really tanked when they introduced all those new Toa and a city environment. Personally, I loved Bionicle because it was on an island. Now? Well, I've lost most of my interest in it, but I still pay attention to the series. Personally, I think these sets are aweful. Just because it doesn't match with the rest of the sets. Bionicle was made with technic. That's they way it was and I'm sticking to it. On a lighter note, I think they don't look horrible, just not what I expect. :-D Quote
Centaur Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I think that TLC is trying as hard as they can to get the most possible people to like Bionicle. I know that some people dont like it because it is Technic, so mabye they are trying to branch out to the people like that. However, I think that this is a joke. The "6 heros, one destiny" was decent, but now its 7, so the main theme dosent fit. and look at the figs. Theyre one piece of plastic, with a 2 by 1 piece to attach it to a studded plate. And it looks like the ideal Star Wars army set, except with Bionicle. I know that there are plenty of Bionicle fans who want to create armies, but they should do that out of technic so it fits with the theme. Star Wars fans are dying for an army builder, and the only sets to contain only people are minifig packs (now discontinued) and the technic sets of Battle Droids and Destroyer droids. I think that TLC should keep Bionicle technic and do something like this with Star Wars except having real minifigs, not the one piece things here. *sick* Quote
Dark_Avenger Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I'm a Bionicle fan, and I'm sorry to say that these sets just don't cut it. The Colisseum Gates look okay, but they're not worth $90. Maybe $70 at most. Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o *sick* :X: |-/ Those demented mini figures are, well, DEMENTED!!!!!!!! the sets look sort of like some actionfigure playset that hasbro might make! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! ;) Quote
gylman Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Although I hated it at first, because of my kids I'm now a bionicle fan (well, as much as any adult can be), and I don't think these new playsets are a useful addition. The first two years of bionicle had some very nice technic sets both large (8558 Cadhok and Gadhok) and small (Boxor), among others. Look them up people - they were fun builds, very clever. Real technic, coming from a guy who just bought 8421. There were some nice sets there. I see no use in these new <insert that tiresome argument> lego system sets. For 90$ they can give us an awesome technic set with tons of functionality, pneumatics/gears... whatever. However, they are marketing to kids, not AFOLs. I assume they want to transition some of the kids who grew up on bionicle to lego system because in hte long run most kids outgrow Bionicle. So it's hard for me to judge reasonably. Time will tell if this was a successful gamble for TLC. I wish them all the best (make as much money as possible so I can get more complex Technic sets). Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 14, 2005 Governor Posted June 14, 2005 Oh dear dudes! This doesn't sound too promising for Bionicle. It sounds like you're beginning to experience what the SYSTEM builders have been experiencing over the years. So Bionicle is going down hill and only getting worse? Maybe we'll see a loss in popularity and a decline in sales. Mr Wolf is going to be over the moon about this! Quote
Iruini Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 i have even more sets on my scope. 1.to hagah. 2.visorak. 3.titans. sorry if you already knew that. Quote
