I actually remember the windows with closing shutters from when I was a kid. It's been a long time since they been in any themes I think. Good to see that they are back.

And I would love to have that roof pack. That is the exact kind of thing I need. The window pack would be nice too. As I am more of a historical builder the wheel pack wouldn't be much use to me.

These do not appear to be those same shutters. I believe they are click hinge shutters... 8-|

More like clip hinges to me.

:'-( I'd rather have the old ones!

Great news!

I had one of those red roof part packs from the early 80s as a kid - I had to save up for ages to get it.

Nice to see these basic packs return and a good complement to the Creator houses.

Hopefully we'll get some other colours in future releases as well.

Hate the new shutters! The giant hinge looks terrible compared to the old-school sutters that we've had for ages. This really disappoints me as I see the window pack as being something of a step backwards.

Before I saw that it was a parts pack, I thought TLC were giving us a trans-clear house... not sure what the point in that would be but trans-clear minifigs would work well as ghosts *y*

How wide are those window shutters anyway?

They kind of look wider than 2 studs each in that first pic and it's hard to see from the pic where all the pieces are jumbled together. 8-|

Anyone have any clues?

I don't have a clue, but those are good questions. Doesn't it look like the hinges are independent of the window? I think these are going to be huge and <insert that tiresome argument>, meant for younger builders... :'-(

These parts packs are great! But it's still a shame that they've made those new shutters. They look aesthetically poor when compared to the originals. When I saw the new versions of the train windows which were designed to accommodate the window panes I was kind of afraid that it might mean they were phasing out the old house windows with the built-in shutter clips. But all good things must eventually come to an end I guess... :'-(

The new clip-hinge shutters appear to be 2.5 studs wide, which is how wide they would need to be in order to shut properly.

On the other hand, these new shutters are more versatile than the old ones, because the clip-hinges allow other uses for them. I can see them being used for mudflaps, train gates, and other uses as well. What I find more interesting is the presence of 2x4x3 windows, which is ancient, in combination with the newer window panes and glass-pieces.

I like the concept here but not the execution.

I don't need every house in town to have a red roof. I would have been thrilled to see this done in the parts pack style with a few colour options. Make it a choice of colours and it's a winner, but as it is, I don't really need it (I'll buy one anyway, I guess).

Those click hinges look hideous. I've never been a fan of that style of window pane (I like the lattice) so that was a strike against it, but the hinges seal the deal. I don't expect to buy one of those.

Wheels. Whee. :-|

That said, if they are cheap enough, I'll end up with one of each for the heck of it, but I can't see any of them inspiring a large purchase.

I'll call this a misstep in the right direction. :-/

Now my comments:

Windows: Ugh, their so big! Probably will only buy 1 of these for the doors.

Tires- Yes, but why yellow?

Roof- Wish it was black, but still nice.

The roof pack is the I'll probably get since I'm in drastic need of roof pieces.

I just hope they release more color options like Black, and Dark Bley ect.

The first idea that came to my mind when seeing this pic frontpaged was: Great, finally TLC brings us a light blue roof. :-D

Then I realized...

Part packs - good idea, but like some already pointed out a different color option would have been even better.

I want brown roofs, dark gray ones!

The window choice is a bit odd: 2x4 frames? Who
