Dadster Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Nice!! I like the idea of these, as it gives folks a decent choice of extra pieces without the stuff you don't want. I'll go for the roof and maybe door/ window packs, but the wheels are definitely a "no buy" for me. Quote
Athos Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Interesting new window/shutter design. I'm glad they didn't abandon shutters. I'm curious to see how well these work and how good they look. I wish they'd done the roof bricks in a color other than red. the new parts packs!!a doors-windows pack then you get roof and then wheels Everything you need to make a Lego trailer park... :-D Steve Quote
Deinonychus Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Man..these are perfect for my Wife... I can toss her a couple boxes of these, grab her a big box of bricks from S@H and she can happily and easily start adding more houses to her little brick neighborhood. Quote
Dr. Brick Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Hm, I like the window one. I need the 1x4x6 window frame in white. I don't minde the roof one. And wheels, well I seem to have spotted big, on the tracktor. They look nice. When will these part packs be released? Dr. Brick Quote
goggleson Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 :'-( I WANT GREY/GRAY/BLEY PARTS PACKS! I am tired of this charade!I want my grey parts packs and I want them now! Ah well, windows are good for others I guess. Enjoy them! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Thank you very much for that pics, phoinix! It's very nice that TLG now releases sets which only include doors/windows and bricks for the roofs. That's a very well decision of TLG to bring back these parts packs since ordering bricks for the roofs per Pick A Brick is very circular and takes a long time (to order and until you then get them). Of course Pick A Brick is a very good thing - but mainly to buy special bricks or several bricks - for a huge bulk of bricks these parts packs are much better. Very nice! *y* Part packs - good idea, but like some already pointed out a different color option would have been even better. I want brown roofs, dark gray ones! The window choice is a bit odd: 2x4 frames? Who Quote
blueandwhite Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I don't have a clue, but those are good questions. Doesn't it look like the hinges are independent of the window? I think these are going to be huge and <insert that tiresome argument>, meant for younger builders... :'-( Look in the pile of bricks. There's what appears to be a new brick (a 3 x 1 post with two clips). these undoubtedly go next to the new two-wide :'-( windows to attach the now 2.5 wide shutters. This is definitely not the direction I wanted to see LEGO take. It's not as if the molds for the old windows suddenly up and disappeared. These <insert that tiresome argument> windows and shutters are just terrible. Quote
soy ? Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Finally some decent lego creator sets, been waiting forever for these, lets look forward to more in the near future Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I've very pleased that Lego has decided to produce these sets, can't wait to get my hands on a few though it depends on the price. Though a trans-clear house would be nice aswell. Quote
Section8 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Add me to the list of people who dislike the new doors and windows. Too BASIC for me, I'd rather have the old-style ones from the 80s-90s. Quote
astoriabluelegos Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I like these, they will help INCREDIBLY with building Town and City models! :-D Quote
highlandcattle Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Wow this is a very good idea, but the window pack is very badly executed. It appears that the shutterholders are only included in red and yellow. That limits your buildings to these two colours. I sure hope they don't abandon the old style windows. I will buy one of these and also the red roof pack because one can never have enough roof parts. Quote
Millacol88 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I'll probably get the roof and window packs so I can make a custom lego house. The wheel pack seems kind of pointless but maybe thats just me. Quote
PaulC Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Wow this is a very good idea, but the window pack is very badly executed. It appears that the shutterholders are only included in red and yellow. That limits your buildings to these two colours. I sure hope they don't abandon the old style windows. The old style windows and shutters are still currently available in Lego Factory and Pick a Brick... so why only include the sub-standard new ones in this pack? Why, Lego? Why??? |-/ Quote
Siegfried Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 These are on S@H and I have seen them at Toyworld (Australia) as well. Quote
Siegfried Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 How are the new window shutter pieces? I didn't say that I bought any... (At $20 AUD it seemed a tad expensive... and big sales are coming to Australians in the next few weeks.) Quote
Fluyt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 They've been available in the Netherlands for a couple of weeks now. Here's a review of them from lowlug: http://www.lowlug.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5283 (it's in dutch, but the pictures speak for themselves) I don't like the new shutters at all, maybe I will in the future, but now they just look horrible compared to the old ones. Quote
Brainbox Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 £8.99? That's not too bad. I might have to get the windows and doors one, and probably the wheels one as well. You always need wheels right? But I don't think I have any particular need for 150 red slopes. Quote
