Vintage Bricks 4 U Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Hi there! I am fairly new to the LEGO world, but I am really enjoying getting to know more about these amazing bricks. My son played with Legos and Bionicles when he was younger so I am not a complete Newbie, but recently a family member passed away who was a major LEGO collector and I was given the responsibility for researching each set for selling them. It has been a wild adventure so far. I have brand new, factory sealed sets all the way back from 1973 and maybe earlier of all kinds, hundreds of them. As I was researching and trying to find the value of these older sets, I started to realize that the boxes for the same sets can look differently (because of a buyer on Ebay who bought one and I shipped the wrong one to him because I had multiple of the same set, but did not realize the box was different for one of them). So I bumped into a forum on this site where a member was explaining the differences and why. Fascinating stuff. Anyway that is what brought me here! I am trying to look for places that will help me find values for these vintage sets. I check all the major ones, especially Bricklink, which helps somewhat, but for some of these, nobody has sold one in brand new sealed condition like my sets are so I have to just guess, and guess high! I am enjoying learning about LEGO so much that once we have sold all the sets we have I will probably keep on buying and selling LEGO, probably whole sets or minifigs. I really don't want to deal with thousands upon thousands of individual bricks, lol. Thanks for letting me be part of the community, I am looking forward to it! Quote
deraven Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Welcome to EB! You're definitely in a good place to help figure out that kind of stuff! I would suggest you keep our own Lego Historian in mind as Gary is a wealth of knowledge on that, especially things that haven't seen the light of day in a long while. More info from him here, too: https://www.facebook.com/Unofficial.LEGO.Sets.Parts.Guide Happy building, and happy discovering/selling, too! Quote
