SirNadroj Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 BTW: Sir Nadroj, your entry states that you have 3 pieces, is that legal? Sorry, but I thought 27 was the limit, if I'm not mistaken? Don't take this the wrong way though please, I would buy atleast five of your entry if it was released in stores *sweet* 27 + A minifigure, right? 8-| Quote

WhiteFang Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 (edited) City entry: Mailman Sam! :-D guess i need to modify my City entry too! Really a nice mailman. I was intending to do something similar to yours :-X Edited March 15, 2008 by whitefang_sg Quote
WhiteFang Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 (edited) I like it! However some of the parts seem a bit big to fit in an impulse set. I agreed is a little big for the impulse, but these pieces are ideal for the theme for my plans. That's why, i limited the quantity as much as possible. Nevertheless, i glad u like it :-$ To all who take time to review our entries, really appericate the time taken to review. Indeed, this contest is really exciting and wonderful! So many nice and more new entries now :-D I have just added my last entry!! To me, this is a really very fun contest and i am glad i took time for it. Hope everyone enjoy themselves as much as i do! ;-) Edited March 15, 2008 by whitefang_sg Quote

Batbrick Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 27 + A minifigure, right? 8-| Ah I seem you counted the mf pieces too, that fine, just wondering *sweet* To the Bricksignal! >:-) Quote
iamded Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 (edited) So, we're allowed to use skeletons and count them as 6 pieces, right? 'Cause, they're like... different to normal minifigs, and, well, I've already build, photographed, and uploaded my entry. In hind sight, I probably should have asked this first... 8-| X-D ~Peace EDIT: Oh yes, great entrys everyone! There are some really outstanding ones in there! *y* Edited March 16, 2008 by iamded Quote
hewkii9 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Put up my newest entry- Star Wars! Though I'm waiting for the Bionicle and Galidor entries... Quote
LegoLyons Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I'm lovin this contest, so many cool entries and different ideas. Although quite a few have not stuck entirely to the rules, ie base plates, more than 3 photo's, minifigs x 2 etc. Is this going to be allowed? Just wondering as rules are sometimes there to be broken? I'm new too all this competition stuff so please do not shoot me down in flames for asking. :'-) Quote
Tanotrooper Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 entry finally posted *sweet* indeed, some don't keep in mind it all has to fit into a rougly 10*10cm box... Oh well, I really enjoyed this contest *pirate* TT Quote
Shadows Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Without reviewing them one by one, I have to admit that there are some excellent entries here. To be perfectly honest, I'd buy most of them if they were released, and some I'd buy lots of. Voting is going to be VERY difficult. Great job everyone! Although quite a few have not stuck entirely to the rules, ie base plates, more than 3 photo's, minifigs x 2 etc. Is this going to be allowed? Just wondering as rules are sometimes there to be broken?I'm new too all this competition stuff so please do not shoot me down in flames for asking. :'-) Don't worry, if there is one thing you can count on around here, it's a fair contest and that's all the more reason that judging such things needs to be left to the site admins who run the contests. I certainly wouldn't say that "quite a few" haven't followed the rules though. I've noticed a few little things here and there, but that's to be expected. Sometimes it's just the language barrier keeping someone from understanding a specific point. Now, that having been said, my last entry will be a city scene depicting your sigfig in a tiny airplane being shot down by a ground based mini-artillery unit. I like to call it "Shoots LegoLyons Down in Flames" >:-) ;-) Ok, so that isn't my real 3rd entry. I just haven't been inspired yet, and heck, it's still 3 or 4 days to go... 8- Impulse On! *y* Quote
Siegfried Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 Although quite a few have not stuck entirely to the rules, ie base plates, more than 3 photo's, minifigs x 2 etc. Is this going to be allowed? Just wondering as rules are sometimes there to be broken? Not a chance! :-D To me rules are to be followed as best you can because it's unfair to the people who do follow the rules and can ruin their fun. Having said that, at this stage I have no intention of banning any entries, even though I could swear that I can see a baseplate somewhere... A few other entries count parts differently to the way that I would too, and other entires are forgetting that this is a Impulse set competion, so some parts would just be too expensive. But it would take a major case of rule breaking for a banning to happen.Personally, the way I handle votes is I look at the rules and vote taking that into consideration. This doesn't mean that I mentally ban every entry that breaks/bends rules, but it does mean that an entry that breaks a lot of rules would need to be darn good to get my vote! :-D But remember, how you vote is your business! Without reviewing them one by one, I have to admit that there are some excellent entries here.Yes, I'll have to pass on my usual one line reviews! Thanks for fielding the earlier question! *sweet*My Licensed entry:Sinner Computing! Sinner Computing? What's that? Don't you mean ACAPsoft... ;-) I'll have to squish that bug... what program is it in and what OS are you running? X-D For sheer smarty-pants reasons you might be getting my vote! :-P Quote
jayber1974 Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 (edited) My city/space entry into this fun little contest posted! waiting for my next entry to become public, then I will post it! I am not really very sure on what are the standards for this contest and i am trying my best to follow closely for this contest! I really having fun in this contest :-$ Quote
Tanotrooper Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 I have some more ideas... gotta see if I can get to them. Mr. Piranha , as much as I love your entry (would be great to get that hairpiece cheap) , that can't be 27 pieces without the minifig, because if I don't even count the flower leaves, I come to 28 pieces. I'm not looking for a fight mr. Piranha, I just wanted to mention it. :-$ Towards my own entry: the only thing that might be unlikely is the fishing net/spider web, as it's a perhaps big piece. As the knife comes in a sprue, that would make 27 pieces + minifig BTW ;-) Quote
SlyOwl Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Sinner Computing? What's that? Don't you mean ACAPsoft... ;-) I'll have to squish that bug... what program is it in and what OS are you running? Siegfried Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 However, if my entries seemed to be bending the rules, please enlighten me.Bending is tollerable, breaking is not. Some of your pieces, such as the shark, would be too expensive for an impulse set, but I never made that a firm rule as it would be too hard to manage... so you're OK. ;-) Mr. Piranha , as much as I love your entry (would be great to get that hairpiece cheap) , that can't be 27 pieces without the minifig, because if I don't even count the flower leaves, I come to 28 pieces. I'm not looking for a fight mr. Piranha, I just wanted to mention it. :-$Errr... me too, and the plate is missing from the breakdown too. While I'm being a rule ranter, iamded, your entry has two minfigs... 8-| Quote

Well if we are gonna get technical :-P Could I count 2 of the food items as minifig accessories? Since we're allowed a minifig plus a few accessories Please? *sweet* If not, minus 2 complete flowers P Edited March 17, 2008 by Piranha Quote
