Captain Nordau Our mysterious Garveyan smuggler whistled along as his little sloop sliced through the calm sea.  It was a fine, cloudless day somewhere near Terraversa, and it so happened that just one day before, the notorious pirate Unrigged Nordau had had the good fortune to sink an Eslandolan ship somewhere in the vicinity... a ship with a chest on board...

"Aha!  Shiver me timbers, now what's this?" exclaimed our smuggler with a wink to no one in particular (he was the only one there), as he caught sight of a little sand bar sticking up out of the ocean, with a half-sunken object up against it, doubtless driven there by the waves and tide.  "I thought so."

And shifting course, he made way for the island, leaping out and drawing a pistol from his coat the instant the sloop's keel grated on the sand.

He looked around in curiosity and caution.  This chap was enough of a pirate, anyways, to know that you should always look twice if there happens to be a skeleton leaning up against the tree beside you.  (In this case, however, it was only the remains of a poor marooned Mardierian who had been there long before the chest ever arrived).  But, as the saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Having concluded that the skeleton was merely a coincidence (not to mention its obvious aesthetic necessity - our smuggler was a adept at all the classic pirate stuff and probably knew exactly what was going on; a treasure chest is nothing if there's not a skeleton nearby) and that the confused frog posed no real threat, he carefully hauled the chest up onto the sand, and popped it open.

"Capital, capital," he ejaculated, "the very ticket!  Now, if that ain't just the thing."

He slipped his hand through the treasure, quickly, before snapping the lid shut again and heaving it into the sloop.

"1,000 Doubloons," he muttered under his breath...

And a couple of fig-less shots:

One last overview:

A continuation of this story (I've got way too many going at the moment :pir-grin:), explaining how Captain Nordau got a hold of 1000 of my doubloons besides the 6000 from Kai.  I'll be licencing this little sloop too and sending it out as a Black Flag (under Unrigged Nordau, of course), and will certainly be continuing this story when I get the time! ... whenever that might be   I've also got that duel story with Titus, and the other mysterious Captain guy, and one or two other things up my sleeve that have got to get done, but...!

Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!

That's very cool! The water is so simple but it looks fantastic.

Excellent build Garmadon! The water is very well done, though I worry that your ship would be stuck in such shallow waters! Everything about the build is excellent, and the story is fantastic as well.

I'd like to see more of the underwater parts of your build. Do you have more pictures?

lovely build, I like the seafloor and the small ship.

This is really neat, great job with the water and with the underwater part too!  The sand being lower than the water is really interesting but I guess it's conceivable that the waves are rolling in at the moment and will roll back out shortly.  Great work on that little boat!

Very nice little boat and water scene ... I love the detail given under the water ... My only wish is that it were a brick or two deeper and the island rose more out of the water.  But beautiful execution and awesome story

Fantastic little build. The underwaterpart, though (or because?) hardly visible stands out the most. Wonderful.

Neat build Garm! I like the boat, the seawater, the tree and the seabed The story was very well told, i really enjoyed the read, especially this:

Nice touch, the parrot and the small ape !

Thanks Professor!  Who can pass up the chance to get a monkey in a build?

Thankee!  Yes, it is pretty shallow - but as it happens, I don't have all that many tan slopes (and besides, I think it might just look a little odd from underneath if it was 3 bricks tall)   But never fear, Captain Nordau is a fabulous navigator! :pir_laugh2:

No, unfortunately I don't.  Kai's run off with her beautiful camera for a few months, so I'm stuck with a thing that thinks the shutter button is the signal to become blurry and out of focus :pir-grin:  I just had to keep snapping in hopes of getting a few good pics, but closeups are very hard and low angles (like under the water) are just about impossible.

Thanks Kai!  I was obviously heavily inspired by W. Navarre's build from a while ago (remember this thing?), so, although I tried out some other heights, I ended up just going the same as him.  I was really happy with the little sloop, though! :pir-sweet:

Thanks Roadmonkey, glad you like it!  I actually started with the island higher out of the water, but somehow it really just looked... wrong, strangely.  So I went ahead and did what looked right over what might be more realistic :pir-grin:  Glad you enjoyed the story too!

Thanks Elos!  Really glad that you liked the underwater addition (it was built to be all viewable) even though I wasn't able to take better pictures of it down there!

Ha, ha, well, that was why I put the skeleton there myself, to tell the truth :pir-laugh:  Thanks mate!

Cool build! I really like that water/underwater technique/structure. Nice job with the boat, too. And a fun story! all around!

Thanks a lot, Capt Wolf!  It was a wee bit of a challenge to get the water to hold up (a couple of bigger sea creatures down there helped hold it up ), but overall it worked pretty well!

Stop raising the bar Garmadon!  You are making some of us plebes feel inadequate.

Gorgeous build btw.
