BrickWild Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Hi there, An eBay seller by the name of 'zacparis' https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/zacparis?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 specializes in reproduction stickers. However, for some bizarre reason, a reproduction sticker set for 5571 Black Cat has a derivative of my LDD 'Legacy' model which I posted in 2013! I suppose this did had to happen, eventually given this kind of planet we live on. Here is the mentioned model: And here is the derivative: Anyone else seen something happen like that to you? Quote
JopieK Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Well it makes life a lot easier if one does not need to create the vectors one selves of course... I would never take this route, but there are an increasing number of people that produce stickers for LEGO that's for sure, and of course it is a little shady anyways since you are most of the time reproducing other work (e.g. I sometimes look at original or model railroad cars and get my inspiration from there but even then it is still copying in one way or the other, even more so when I scan and vector redraw original LEGO artwork of course). B.t.w. you could (and should) complain to him and eBay about it of course! Quote
koalayummies Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Was the LDD file freely shared? Surely they can find another LDD file of this build but considering its a slight modification of an official Lego set and not an original one-off creation wouldn't Lego have as much right and entitlement to compensation as much as the modder? Did they edit the picture to the wire-frame style or did you? Quote

MAB Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 And the bad thing for anyone buying it is that it doesn't show the real set. Quote
BrickWild Posted March 25, 2018 Author Posted March 25, 2018 I need to make it very clear to everyone, especially on Flickr/Brickshelf & those questioning the legalities of my work that my LDD Models are Strictly 100% Non-Profit i.e. they will not make me even a Solitary Dollar. Quote
