RacerRabbit Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 I'll give you my top 5. 1) 2016 Ford GT and 1966 Ford GT40 2) Scuderia Ferrari Truck and F14T 3) Porsche 911 RSR and Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 4) Ferrari FXX-K Development Center 5) McLaren 720S Quote
supertruper1988 Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 My favorite is the GT40 part of the official set and the new green 911 turbo. I am excited for the new wheel arch pieces and what TLG what will do with them. Quote
SirBlake Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Ford GT’s hot rod + Raptor new + old Camaros im seeing a trend here. 2-car American stuff. Quote
AllanSmith Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Anything with 4 wheels :) Ok it would probably be the Ford GT40. Quote
Carbohydrates Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 1. 75881 2016 Ford GT & 1966 Ford GT40. A fantastic pair, but especially the GT40, which has a really clever and unusual build for the nose and spoiler shaping, plus it even has a functional rear window! 2. 75888 Porsche 911 RSR and 911 Turbo 3.0. Another killer pair, with clever builds for the 3.0's headlights and the RSR's cabin and spoiler. I bought this for the Turbo, but the RSR almost steals the show! 3. 75877 Mercedes-AMG GT3. Really great sleek shaping and amazingly low ground clearance, interesting technique for the angled taillights, and the side build is actually useful and a great addition to the set. Plus, it looks solid without stickers. 4. 75884 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. A standalone classic car set! This one grew on me a lot. Stud free construction, lovely taillights, and a printed Mustang badge! The Nexo Knights shield tile as a shaker hood is perfect. The new wheelwells are gorgeous. It also looks arguably better without the stickers. The proportions are just a little off. 5. It's really hard to pick a #5. I want to say maybe 75880 McLaren 720S, but it's not particularly special; or 75889 Ferrari Ultimate Garage for the excellent 312 T4 and 250 GTO, but it's a poor value and the 488 GTE is basically redundant. deraven Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Another vote for 75881 here. Those GTs are great. Definitely like the newer Porsches as well. Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 The 2015 LaFerrari set, the 2017 Bugatti Chiron set, and the 2016 Corvette and Camaro Drag Race sets. Quote
McLaren97 Posted March 26, 2018 Author Posted March 26, 2018 My top 5: 1: Scuderia Ferreri Truck and F14: Very large set with lots of cool features. Being my first Speedchampions set, I loved the build of the truck and trailer. when assembled there was so much you could do with the set, pit stops, setting up, travelling to/from a race 2: Ford GT and GT40: Alot has changed in 50 years. This set builds two very iconic ford cars, both Le Mans 24 Hour winners. The GT40 is an interesting build, and the rear window and the front are definetly cool features. The new GT also is very well re-created and the pair look awesome together. 3: Porsche RSR and 911 Turbo 3.0: Another set with old and new. Love the new wheel arches on the 911 Turbo, and the lime green turns out pretty nice. The RSR is definetly an improvement on the originals (75912), and I love the red, grey and black stripes. 4: Porsche 919 Hybrid: When the first 919 Hybrid was released (75876), I was pretty dissapointed with it's overall shape and colour scheme. But the new 919 (75887), features an improved front spoiler, and a cool paint scheme (very similar to the new Porsche RSR). It's a great tribute to the last Porsche LMP1 to win Le Mans 24 Hour. 5: McLaren P1: While the original Speedchampions sets were a bit disproportionate, I love the use of a snowboard as the rear spoiler on the back of the car. The car in real life is cool, and I'm always biased towards McLaren. Thanks to everyone else who commented Quote
BimmerBoy Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 I won't go by set, but by car. 1. Mercedes AMG GT3. Love this car in real life, and I love how you can switch from super race car version to track/street car version. 2. 911 3.0 Turbo. I don't own this yet, but as soon as I saw it, I knew it was awesome. Might become #1 when I do get it. 3. Classic Camaro. Its big and bad and looks great. 4. Bugatti Chiron. I was prepared to be disappointed, but I was surprised at how much I like it in Lego form. Bonus points for the stickers being on clear paper to allow for other color combinations. 5. McLaren 720s. Love the sketch board side build. This was hard to choose, I love Speed Champions and most of the cars! Quote
bamsham363 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 for me it would be the mercedes f1 team set 75883, single seaters work best, not personally a big fan of the rest, s dont agree with the scaling, although some are very good in their design. Quote
Andy98 Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Top 5: #1 AMG GT3 — Love the ability to change from track mode to street most useful side build #2 Ford GT set — two great builds of two iconic cars #3 Chevy Camaro Drag Race — Whats not to like? #4 Bugatti Chiron — displays well and should be fun to put next to the new upcoming Technic Chiron #5 Ford Raptor & Hot Rod set — mainly just for the Raptor, hope they do more trucks!
