Leonardo da Bricki Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Mind-blowing build! I've been watching the updates on this build for a really long time now. The finished product is incredible: details, functions, sheer size... Quote
Jurss Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Amazing details, amazing model. Engine timing chain is rusty ... :D Quote
Lucio Switch Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Finally it's done!! It's epic! Lots of really cool details, but the microwave it's the cherry on the cake. I would have used 2 more XL motors instead the gearbox, I think that it could perform a bit better. But it's just my tought! Hats off! Quote

Wouldn't 4 adequately powered XL motors break the UJ even without a gearbox? Or would you gear it differently ( gear motors up > UJ > gear down) or would you build a custom UJ? Besides even ONE XL motor can cause the 20 tooth double bevel gear to slip on the differential gear. Quote

I don't know how is geared in this MOC, but I would increase the rpm of the whole transmission (decreasing the transmitted torque accordingly) and I would decrese the speed only in the portal hubs, this is how my Crane Truck worked. It weight 8.6kg. Quote
Sariel Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 4 XL motors and a custom-built u-joint would be a good option. The downside is that 2 more XLs means 1 additional battery with 1 additional IR receiver. Quote
