Carsten Svendsen Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I will sign up for the building team. I have heaps of time during the day as I'm home from work at 15:00 Quote

OffroadCreat1ons answered your question. 7 hours ago, Didumos69 said: @letsbuild, well, that is quite a challenge for such a small scale! One question, do the axles need to have suspension? And differentials? Does the gearbox need a center differential? Or is that all up to the specific designers? All features are up to the designers. It would be really nice if you could make your section as packed as possible, seeing as that's all you have to build. 7 hours ago, BrickbyBrickTechnic said: #2- BrickbyBricktechnic I like the idea of a modular truck. The bar isn't too high, and the result ends being pretty awesome. Sounds good, although you know we aren't building a truck, right? 6 hours ago, Aventador2004 said: Suspension or not @letsbuild? The first is being difficult with regular pieces. It's up to you, but it would be nice to have some. 4 hours ago, TechnicRCRacer said: I would do this, but I am not sure if my building skills are up to par with you guys’. If there is a very small roll, I would be happy to help. I put you in for the pop-up headlights. 3 hours ago, Aventador2004 said: If you need a section builder / tester, I can be one. I am home all day. Are you sure you have time in the next few weeks? This project won't take one day. 1 hour ago, Carsten Svendsen said: I will sign up for the building team. Didumos69 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 @letsbuild, perhaps seats could be mentioned as a separate topic, apart from the rest of the interior. Quote

I figured the rest of the interior wouldn't be very difficult, so I lumped it all together 6 hours ago, Permo said: I'll be Statler and Waldorf... Alex Ilea Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 @Aventador2004I think we should work together because I am the engine guy Quote
offroadcreations Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I've started the doors. They aren't really butterfly doors because they don't swing up and out at an angle, and they aren't a dihedral synchro-helix linkage, because they don't swing out. What they do is, as they rotate up, the gear meshes the rack to push the door outwards. I'll have to refine the linkage and the doors themselves once more of the car is built. Here's a render: Quote

Might as well share your LXF here, so I can use it too. Btw, don't wait for me with sharing axles and engine. My idea is to tie everything together. Can't make a chassis if I don't know the axles or engine. With rear axles and engine, integrated or not, I can make a start. Edited April 6, 2018 by Didumos69 Quote
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 @letsbuild , please clarify for me: what exactly do the builders do? Also you added me to the list right? Quote

Aventador2004 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 @Didumos69 : Here is a prelim LXF: https://bricksafe.com/files/aventador2014/CollaborationSupercarSuspensionRearLXF.lxf Quote
Alex Ilea Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 @Offroadcreat1onsI'd say go for a combination between 42069 doors and sheepo's i8 doors, that seems a tad to basic tbh Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 This is looking sweet so far! After I see the final model, I might consider building it. Quote

letsbuild Posted April 7, 2018 Author Posted April 7, 2018 @Aventador2004 I built your LDD axle, and I recommend you try a different design. The one you uploaded isn't very smooth when the suspension is compressed. This is undesirable. Quote
