I guess within the design process we also need to build a real life model to test if it actualy works, right? @letsbuildwill do my best:thumbup:

@letsbuild, well, that is quite a challenge for such a small scale!

One question, do the axles need to have suspension? And differentials? Does the gearbox need a center differential? Or is that all up to the specific designers?

All features are up to the designers. It would be really nice if you could make your section as packed as possible, seeing as that's all you have to build.

I like the idea of a modular truck. The bar isn't too high, and the result ends being pretty awesome.

Sounds good, although you know we aren't building a truck, right?

Suspension or not @letsbuild?

The first is being difficult with regular pieces.

It's up to you, but it would be nice to have some.

I would do this, but I am not sure if my building skills are up to par with you guys’. If there is a very small roll, I would be happy to help.

I put you in for the pop-up headlights.

If you need a section builder / tester, I can be one. I am home all day.

Are you sure you have time in the next few weeks? This project won't take one day.

I will sign up for the building team. I have heaps of time during the day as I'm home from work at 15:00

Okay, I've put you down.

I'm still looking for an interior designer.

@letsbuild, perhaps seats could be mentioned as a separate topic, apart from the rest of the interior.

I figured the rest of the interior wouldn't be very difficult, so I lumped it all together

I can, but someone else may also.

My first draft of suspension (Making LXF.)

Looks good! Don't rush it, though. Take your time, make it good!

It is #5 draft ATM. I Just wanted to see what others thought.

I've started the doors. They aren't really butterfly doors because they don't swing up and out at an angle, and they aren't a dihedral synchro-helix linkage, because they don't swing out. What they do is, as they rotate up, the gear meshes the rack to push the door outwards.

I'll have to refine the linkage and the doors themselves once more of the car is built.

Here's a render:

So, you've basically built the doors for a koegnigsegg. I was talking about something like from a Mclaren.

I will make a preliminary LXF and send it to you.

Dont forget Didumos needs a Chassis ready first (Absolutely no pressure.)

Nice work on the axles! A floating diff house, I was already thinking that would be the only way to make it 23 studs wide. Might as well share your LXF here, so I can use it too. Btw, don't wait for me with sharing axles and engine. My idea is to tie everything together. Can't make a chassis if I don't know the axles or engine. With rear axles and engine, integrated or not, I can make a start.

Ok. How about this?

It hinges up and out at the same time. Pretty simple though.

Ok, it is in progress now.

@letsbuild , please clarify for me: what exactly do the builders do? Also you added me to the list right?

The builder a take virtual models and build them in real life to see if they work.

Sometimes the simplest mechanism's the best. Try some other stuff, maybe try a dihedral door.

@Aventador2004 I built your LDD axle, and I recommend you try a different design. The one you uploaded isn't very smooth when the suspension is compressed. This is undesirable.

Try without the 4L axles, that may improve it. The axles stabilize, but are not needed.

Even without them, the problem persists, but worse.
