mocbuild101 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Cool project, and I wish I could join in, but I'm already doing too many other things... I will follow the progress though, and add my thoughts, as I do want to contribute at least a little bit... One question - has anyone decided what supercar in particular (if any) this is going to be based on? - it would be much easier if everyone was building the same thing... Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 @mocbuild101Does it even have to be based on a real-life car? Whenever I build something, I just go with the flow and see what comes out. If the model is done in stages, everything should work out. Quote

Didumos69 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 @Aventador2004, I think the problem is the 11x5 frames that collide with the diff. Quote
Alex Ilea Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 What I've been up to :) The stand is just for design. I still need to improove some things. Quote

So, in 23 wide and Suspension it's not possible to build the Diff in the middle. I got 2 powertrains now, shall I build in the diff, or does the "Frame-Guy" @Didumos69 build the diff in. The piece that Paul used I do not own, so I used a different one. I am going to use that piece through ldd. Quote

For instance, is the engine going to be in the front or rear? Maybe reading what I had written before would be helpful: On 05/04/2018 at 8:33 AM, letsbuild said: Plan: We build an all-wheel-drive, mid-engined supercar using these wheels. The total width of the car will be 23 studs, length as needed. It would feature a four-speed gearbox, butterfly-wing doors, and pop-up headlights. 7 hours ago, IA creations said: What I've been up to :) The stand is just for design. Alex Ilea Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I'd say we should call this car the ''Helix V8''. Just sounds cool Quote

KikoTube Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Well, nobody said something bout the axle so im just gonna ask if its okay? Quote
offroadcreations Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 7 minutes ago, KikoTube said: Well, nobody said something bout the axle so im just gonna ask if its okay? The spring IRL is longer than in the file, so it would need to be mounted higher. Other than that it looks fine, based off the LDD file. Quote

Alex Ilea Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 @KikoTubeyou need to add thin 5L liftarms at the end holes of the A arms, else then compressed, the bottom balljoint will pop out the wheel hub Quote

Ye, I knew about that, its a replica of a suspended spring, so i can work on the lxf without angled a arms. But I will mount them higher, since its a supercar, and we want it to be pretty flat i believe. Thanks for the critism Edited April 7, 2018 by KikoTube Quote

(though having to read 4 pages probably had something to do with it) @KikoTube that front axle looks great, I think the different options for mounting the suspension will be useful for when the final model is put together, and it probably would be a good idea to add it to the rear axle too. 10 hours ago, IA creations said: ''Helix V8'' That does sound cool...
