Visiting Billund

Hi all,

not too sure where to post this and I couldn’t find the answers with a search so please excuse me.

my better half is going to treat me to a trip to Billund, will just be a solo trip as she doesn’t understand this plastic brick obsession and we don’t have kids.

what I’m after knowing is recommendations of where to stay, how long do people normally take to visit the new Lego house/museum thingy, is legoland worth visiting as a solo adult? And is so how long to see? Is there anything else I should add to the list? Oh and how easy is it to get to/from the airport?

I spent around 5 hours there, including a trip to their store. Legoland was covered in snow when I went, so can't comment there.

Before you book, keep in mind that The Lego House is only open on certain days of the week.

Getting to/from the airport is really easy. There's a bus which connects the airport to the Legoland Hotel and The Lego House, 25DKK each way IIRC.

Make sure to pick up a model of The Lego House while there. I went for the tree instead and regret it. The airport's been sold out for almost a year now with no plans to release any more, but you can still meet the designer at the Lego store in the airport.
