Posted April 9, 20186 yr Long story short. One of my kids is now 4 years old and we have started to build some new Lego sets together. I have all my Lego saved from my own childhood, and I got a sudden urge to try and find and build some of the sets. Unfortunately they are all mixed in plastic bags. I hope to find help identifying some sets, and then use brickinstructions.com or other resource to piece them together. Link to images below, thanks in advance.
April 9, 20186 yr The best place to start is at Brickset.com. Search for the theme names you remember (Pirates, Space, etc) and the years you had Lego in as a kid, then see what sets you recognize. Look for the big recognizable parts from each set. Based on those pictures, some good search terms will be "9V," "monorail," "Space Police 2," "Blacktron 2," "Spyrius," "Imperial Flagship," "Octan," "Space Police," "M-Tron," "Ice Planet 2002," and "Dark Forest." I don't have time to go through the Brickset database and pick out the individual sets myself, but you can start there.
April 9, 20186 yr I can clearly see some LEGO system in there, it's quite probable as You said it's an old collection... Try searching for a set with this armored horse on the sixth photo as it's a quite rare piece. It comes probably from THIS SET. The same with the castle flag on the first photo it might be part of THIS SET. If it's the case than I guess I am quite jealous LEGO system is a very large serie, but it's divided into some subgroups like castle, space, city etc... I'm not entirely sure, but I think that the spaceships might also be a part of the system series. I can clearly see a Space Police set and I am almost sure it's THIS ONE, but You should verify it Yourself as I can't see all the pieces You have THIS shield shows us also that You have some System-Forestmen sets. There are also some pirates sets wich should also be easy to find as it's a rather small series and You have some specific pieces (flag with canons, monkey and the tropical tree). Omn the forth photo there is a piece with OCTAN written on it. There is a little series of sets with OCTAN trademark so it should also be easy to identify as this piece seems very specific so no more than one or two sets should contain it. The red-bigger-version-of-a-minifig-sorta-guy on the fifth photo is also a quite rare piece and it can be easily localized as it's most probably a part of th Jack Stone series and, most probably, it comes from THIS SET. I might spot some more in a bit of time, but that's it for the moment. But first of all make sure thet You haven't lost any pieces during all these years as it's incredibly frustrating to build sets with missing pieces (trust me on this one). Anyway, Good luck with the reconstruction!

April 9, 20186 yr I would guess it's from this or this. The Jack Stone figures are smaller and have fewer degrees of freedom.

April 10, 20186 yr While we're at it, these are 3 specific sets that are very easy to identify based on individual parts in your photos: https://brickset.com/sets/6991-1/Monorail-Transport-Base https://brickset.com/sets/6959-1/Lunar-Launch-Site https://brickset.com/sets/6086-1/Black-Knight-s-Castle
April 10, 20186 yr 2 things you can do yourself: 1) view sets by theme on either Brickset or Bricklink to see which you recognise, 2) search for certain parts on Bricklink and see which sets they came in. I can tell you before researching that you have (at least some parts of) the Unitron monorail set, the Ice Planet base, the Spyrius base, the Blacktron 2 base, a police boat, a train, some Paradisa, Octan, Aquazone, BASIC, Space Police 1&2, a variety of Town, some Forestmen and a castle, probably the 1992 one. Looks like you may have these So I would start by downloading or printing an inventory of those sets (assuming they are correct) and separate those parts. Then you can narrow down from there. Looks like a very enviable childhood collection!
April 11, 20186 yr Their is a chance this Blacktron set is in the pile. https://brickset.com/sets/6981-1/Aerial-Intruder Edited April 11, 20186 yr by samurai-turtle
