AmazingPharaoh Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Thanks for the review. I may get the bigger ship actually. Ignore the stupid critics, they do not know what they say.

clm Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Please don't bump old topics unless you have something really important to add. And keep the strong language in check. I apologize about bumping the topic, but I do have more information to add and I don't see any reason to make another post for this, keeping the clone stuff in one thread is probably better. I bought these because I was 'curious' and there was no information available... so here is information. I have scanned the instruction manuals for three of the Enlighten ships so far and wish to make them available as well as modeled them in LDD (Yeah yeah once again I know sacrilege) to make them easy to examine. I won't actually review them due to not wanting to praise any clone brands but I will say, for a product of this quality not marking any of your parts with your manufacturers mark is curious. Even the substantially worse Kazi bricks are all clearly marked "Kazi". I will also say... I really really like the 307 "Adventure" they took the basic design of the Barracuda and shrunk it down to fit on a hull that is basically the same size as the classic pirate small hull ships. It is really well proportioned for a classic pirate style ship and more a derivative design then a clone of the Barracuda in the LXF file trans red= the parts are different from the LEGO parts or non existent in LDD. The Enlighten small bow and stern are derived from the LEGO large bow and stern and not from the LEGO small parts. The mast tops are all rotated 90 degrees from what the LEGO ones are. 305 Royal warship (modified Armada Flagship clone) (PDF Manual) https://www.dropbox.com/s/fevj66gt7vctvxn/Enlighten%20305%20Royal%20Warship.pdf?dl=0 (LXF) http://home.earthlink.net/~parrot23/images/buildingbricks/enlighten/enlighten%20305.lxf 307 Adventure (PDF Manual) https://www.dropbox.com/s/cibogklbuq1xumq/Enlighten%20307%20Adventure.pdf?dl=0 (LXF) http://home.earthlink.net/~parrot23/images/buildingbricks/enlighten/enlighten%20307.lxf 308 Black Pearl (modified Barracuda clone) (PDF Manual) https://www.dropbox.com/s/4lxgdcdbu1s3p1i/Enlighten%20308%20Black%20Pearl.pdf?dl=0 (LXF) http://home.earthlink.net/~parrot23/images/buildingbricks/enlighten/Enlighten%20308.lxf Chris
Hive Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Thanks for sharing the instructions! I've often seen a set from a clone brand and thought "I don't want to buy a clone brand, but this is a nice model and I'd like to build it in real LEGO"... and now I can.
clm Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Exactly, I am surprised no one else has scanned any of the manuals, so I guess I will keep being the guinea pig to get the info out :) There is little point in building the 308 in LEGO, but the other two built in LEGO would flesh out a fleet nicely. I do like that the 307 could pass as a merchant guild ship as is due to no Jolly Rogers anywhere too bad the gold sails are printed off center lol Chris
Captain Pirate Man Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) I also am a pretty big fan of these enlighten pirate ships, I currently own 5 enlighten ships, with the knockoff bsb being my newest addition. I missed out on many of the Lego originals, so these allow me to build up my fleet without paying a fortune. Plus the "king of the seas" and the smaller one of the same colors are not direct Lego ripoff, so is the adventurer, which I turned into my red coat ship. So basically, of the 5 I own, only 2 are direct Lego copies, the bsb and the armada ship. I also own the kazi black pearl, which needed some help, but is now the prize of my fleet. I also own the biggest sluban ship, which needed a major redesign to become at all usefull. The sluban ship looks ok now, but it was really a crapper when I first bought it, far worse than the kazi ship. The kazi ship had flaws, but it at least looked good, the sluban ship looked down right ugly, plus had many flaws. But back to enlighten, if you are pinching pennies, they are a pretty good alternative to get some classic looking sets. Edited February 18, 2015 by Captain Pirate Man
legoguy1984 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I have the smaller of the ships in the original post. I do think the quality is bad compared to Lego (obviously) but as I have bought it solely to glue together and display in my bar and as my bar is fairly open I don't mind if someone steals this ship. I will never display my Lego outside of my Lego room and these make cheap display alternatives. I also built their huge war ship but that was missing parts even though I had bought it brand new. It has since been played with so much that pieces have been lost and I eventually broke it down and added it to my sons toy box. I also don't mind if my friends kids play/lose these pieces but would be inconsolable if the same happened to my beloved Lego. Just my two cents worth.
pj-jew Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) I have a question about the Enlighten brand blocks, do they come with well written instructions? Like lego? I was contemplating this set: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GN36UVA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1J925ZFC22G76 Edited October 7, 2016 by pj-jew added more info
