For any one of you that has a big republic army or bucketheads, their helmets can easily damage themselves and the head of the clone trooper if left on for a long time. They can become stiff and some times even squeak when turned. And then they will become very loose! I found this situation happen quite commonly with my clone troopers but maybe not stormtroopers so much, and commander gree died because of that.

The best way to stop this from happening is to store them with their helmets off as this could happen to any variant of the clone/storm trooper helmet.

Both clones' phase I armor and phase II armor? you are meaning the plastic material may stick to each other by presspassung between the helmets and heads? Wow... I will pay attention on them, your idea is referable, maybe I should disassemble all my clones for storing.

Thanks! and how about others minifigures? e.g. Jedi...is it possible to become squeak on arms or legs.

What's your definition of a long time? I have dozens that have been on display for several years and don't display the symptoms you describe, I do know other people's results may vary but now I am slightly alarmed.

I do mess around a bit with them now and then, not really play with them though, also regularly dust them and occasionally wash them, no issues yet.

I haven't really noticed a difference over time, but some helmets are loose from the very beginning.
On the other hand this is relatively rare in terms of likelyhood as I have more helmets than I dare to admit,
but only few dozen exhibit these symptoms.

I'll be honest, I don't care if their helmets do get stuck on their heads. There's very few situations I'd want to display them without their helmets on.

i guess if you do clean them then this shouldn't be a problem then

I've got figures that have had their helmets on for years. Some of them for around 6 or 7 years. Haven't noticed them becoming tight or loose. They're just kind of the same as they always have been.
