cubo Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Hi everybody, I'd like to share with you my BrickHeadz version of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy (in german speaking countries also known as "Dick und Doof"), which I built for the BrickHeadz Contest on Brickset last year: The only printed parts used are the eyes, everything else is 100% LEGO and completely brick-build (no stickers etc.). The can be found on LEGO Ideas as well - so if you like them, your support is highly appreciated! Thanks a lot! cubo Quote
Trekkie99 Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Adorable! Love Laurel and Hardy and your brickhead versions really capture them well. Quote
SERVATOR Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 In Poland: Flip (Laurel) & Flap (Hardy). Great! Quote
Lucarex Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Fantastic. Not sure about the non-English names for the duo though! Quote
carebear Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 the expression on there faces look Amazing! Love these! Greetings! Quote
MAB Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Nice, but there is too much detail in the heads to be brickheadz. For example, human brickheadz don't have noses. Quote
cubo Posted July 2, 2018 Author Posted July 2, 2018 @MAB: You are right that "human" brickheadz don't have noses (at least until now), but I think it is very important in this case to get the right (and immediately recognizable) look. And they are only real life figures, but also comic characters as well: Best regards, cubo Quote
CarrollFilms Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 There are the most adorable brickheadz I loved watching those 2 growing up as akid! Quote
cubo Posted July 21, 2018 Author Posted July 21, 2018 About the german names: "Dick" means thick or corpulent, "Doof" means something like silly / foolish / dumb... so not really a translation of names, but of appearance Quote
myHeadz Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Very impressive and detailed MOC. Keep up the good work! Quote
cubo Posted August 3, 2018 Author Posted August 3, 2018 Thanks! The first 100 supporters are achieved - I wonder how far I can get... Anyway, a big thank you to everyone how supported my project!! Quote
