Posted July 1, 20186 yr I have been working on this project for what seems like forever. I'm happy to have it done. The full gallery can be found here. Much more at thirdwigg.com. Full Lift With TLG Balloon Tires Chassis Â
July 1, 20186 yr Oh my god this is amazing. There’s no BS aesthetic fluff, just raw shapes and function. Great use of specialised parts like pneumatics, turntables for pendular suspension, a fake engine and the torque tube. This is absolutely 100% what TLG should be striving towards. You should be very proud of it! Edited July 1, 20186 yr by Bartybum
July 1, 20186 yr Pure Technic and I will not say what you know but I still hate them  . First TLG pneumatic loaders are almost impossible to beat but this is a good contender.
July 1, 20186 yr Like the FischerTechnik tyres, they really set it off. Great use of the pneumatic pump as well.Â

July 1, 20186 yr The best thing about this model (to look at) is the tyres - if only TLG would give us smaller tractor tyres like those! As soon as the balloon tyres are fitted, it looks very much like 8459. I see a couple of issues with design: first, the parallel lift doesn't work great as the bucket tips too far backwards and the load will spill onto the cab, and also your pneumatic control valves are too close together so one lever fouls the movement of the other. Besides these two minor issues, it's a great model and I really like it.
July 1, 20186 yr this is what technic is all about, pure functions and not just about filling up gaps and panels. love it!
July 1, 20186 yr This is what Lego Technic should be. I'd pay good money to buy this MOC (if it was a set) from a store. Truly an excellent build!
July 2, 20186 yr Cool MOC! I like that you have tried to keep the lines simple and the Technic visible. The tyres also look great. I will check them out ... I would also be interesting building this, also to understand for instance what the gear in the back bumper does. Stupid question: Should this model not have a steering wheel?
July 2, 20186 yr Author Wow. Thanks all for the positive response. @Bartybum, it shouldn't be to hard to get some instructions up. I am not working this whole week, so give me a couple of days. I hate putting together part lists, so you may be on your own for that. @jorgeopesi I'm with you on the pneumatics, but I feel like building things that I dislike is character development. Or something like that. Looking forward to see your loader finished. @WvG_853 Egad! You're right, it should have a steering wheel. I'll add it for the instructions. The gear on the back bumper is to drive the fake I4 engine. I'll try to post a driveline schematic as well to make it more clear. And a simple plug for @rm8 who supplies those FisherTechnik tires. I'm using them all the time now, and I'll post another MOC with them later this week. I used to be a purist until I found these tires. They're great. Edited July 2, 20186 yr by Thirdwigg

July 2, 20186 yr Author @jorgeopesi I get it. It was hard for me to get around the purist tendencies for the tires, but they have been perfect for a couple of my MOCs. I'm still holding out for TLG to come up with something better. I'm not holding my breath.

July 3, 20186 yr That's a lovely little old style Technic model. Good to see someone still making them in these panel covered times. The model seems very functional, and the aesthetics are perfect for what a Technic model should be! Â PS: Where did you get the tires? I need some "small" tractor style tires for a model I'm working on.

I've just bought them on Fischer Technik reseller : www.d-edition.de (search for tractor tyres) @Thirdwigg I like this model! Maybe I would add some panels on the back bonnet. And yes there must be some small adjustment in the Z linkage to work properly
