jamzee Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 Hi everyone Please could you kindly let me know how many of the flexible tracks sections are needed to make a half circle or a circle, such as the pieces in track set 60205? ie how many of these packs are needed to make a continuous loop? Huge thanks for any help! Best, James Quote
Zed_43 Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 I depens on the curve radius you'd like to get. If I remember well, for the tightest curve you can get, you need 64 flex track sections for a full circle, so 32 to half circle. But the curves will be really tight and it will really slow fown your train. Quote
ColletArrow Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 I believe that the tightest radius possible with the flex tracks is identical to that of one standard curve piece. If I remember correctly, each flex piece is 4 studs long, and standard curves/straights are 16. (This means 4*flex = 1*normal, either straight or curved). Therefore, as 16 curves are required for a full circle, in flex that'll be 16*4=64 pieces. Quote
sed6 Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 Both the above answers are correct. However flex track offers poor traction and its doubtful a train would run around a circle made entirely of flex track. I try to avoid more than 2 pieces of flex track connected together. Quote
Zed_43 Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Apparently, the tightest curves you can get takes less sections than I thought: Picture found with google image. Quote
