Bricky Dee Williams Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I don’t mind that Mysterio comes in each set. He’s a character that would make sense to have multiples of in a scene. I love the build-up of Hydro-Man, as well as the Peter Parker in that set! The Stark-Jet looks unpolished, but not awful. I feel like the drones might be a creative choice to avoid spoilers. And I want to point out that there is no way Nick Fury is walking on the outside of an in-flight airplane!
Marvelous Spidey Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I absolutely love these sets! I'm so excited that they put so much effort into making these look amazing! It definitely shows that LEGO feel like Spider-Man is definitely a bigger seller than the Avengers still. Just a few of the things I LOVE about these sets: Moltenman's build is so good looking! I love how that turned out. Does anyone know what piece is used for his head? Is that a new piece? I'M SO HAPPY WE GOT PETER AND MJ. And Peter looks soooooo good with that pulled up mask and suit under his shirt! IMO the ultimate minifig in the wave. We get 4 civilians in 3 superhero sets! That's a superior ratio to anything I was expecting! I personally love that they included a firefighter in the Moltenman set trying to put him out I love all the details coming out of Moltenman. I don't buy the whole "looks like Nexoknights" bit people are saying. He's the build of the wave for me! Everytime I look at it I like it more. Stealth suit Spidey looks great! Really happy to get a new variant of him! I like how sleek the Stark Jet is. And a couple small nitpicks that don't detract from how spectacular these are: Happy does not look like him at all. I'll make a purist custom of him instead. MJ is way too bland. I'm so happy to have a Zendaya looking head, but the hair and toso choices are really dissapointing. Another one I'll feel the need to improve. I wish we had gotten a minifig version of Moltenman inside that giant, sensational build of him. While the plane does look really good, I'm tired of LEGO planes so I just might pass on that one. I wish one of the Mysterios had come without the helmet. Just would have been nice. Finally, I wish we had gotten the Ditko Spidey. If it's the suit for him going forward it won't be a big deal because we'll get it at some point but I was looking forward to it now and I would have needed the plane set if that was in it. I can not wait to get these sets!
wesker Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 The Molten Man and Hydro Man sets look awesome. Glad they're making Mysterio easily obtainable. The Venice build reminds me a lot of the Indiana Jones set only more detailed. The Stark Plane looks decent but not something I feel the need to buy. It looks too similar to the Justice League Javelin set that came out a few years ago.
SEmrys Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Have to say these Far From Home sets are a lovely surprise. At the moment, my focus is still on the Quinjet, but I may have to pick up that Hydro-Man set too! The Peter Parker fig is probably my favourite figure to come out of the superhero line in quite some time. Mysterio being in the cheapest set is also a bonus. Like others have said, I'll probably just Bricklink Fury. And in regards to Peter's other classmates, I would have preferred them to the firefighter but maybe if the Hydro-Man set sells well we'll be treated to more characters like Ned and Flash whenever the Spider-Man 3 sets come around.
HalfBloodPrince Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 My honest Thoughts: Sets: 9/10 (Stark Plane could be better) Minifigures: 7-8/10 You have to admit, if they did black suit Spider-man, i am 99 percent sure he wouldn’t have dualmould legs. Happy Hogan is a lazy figure. We kind of already got Sandman in that one vulture set from this year.

Wonkyeye1 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 SO CLOSE to being a perfect wave. Just needed to replace the firefighter with Ned and put the red and black Spidey suit in the Stark plane. Still these are great sets overall and one of the best Marvel waves in a while.

Not a bad choice though (how does his hair look so good after taking the mask off? I need that hairspray!) Interesting that both spider waves this year are great, but the avengers is between are awful. Maybe they just put little effort into avengers because the info they had to base the sets off of might not even be accurate to the movie? I'd like to have that hairspray too! I don't even need a mask to mess my hair up completely, give it a little wind and it looks horrible again I think one of the primary reasons both Spidey waves are better designed (in your opinion, I didn't really like the ''normal'' 2019 wave aside from the figures) than the Endgame wave is the general appeal to Spidey, he's Marvels top-performing character after all!
Balrogofmorgoth Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I love the Molten Man brick built figure but I really wish we got a minifigure version like with Hydro Man. And I really wish we got the other two as well. I’ll have to put the Sand Man from the previous spider man wave in with these sets, it looks similar enough with the sand build underneath him and everything

TOTDForever Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 That Peter parker fig can be used to represent the comic book version of Spider-Man easily, especially since the stark suit he is wearing looks like the Dikto design (minus the colors obviously) that hydro man set is the "Iron Man Hall of Armor" set for this wave, one of the most desirable ones. And I know I already said this but that BOX ART THOUGH <3 I may display the boxes with the sets I love them so much.
NXS7 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Have I come to the right website? Peter, Michelle, Happy and it appears Hydro Man have no leg printing, Happy, Peter and Firefighter all reuse a head piece, Michelle reuses the torso from Jurassic World, Mysterio is repeated in all 3 sets, Spidey is the exact same as Homecoming. This is really unlike you guys, everyone complained about the Outriders and Chitauri having no leg printing, or that Black Widow and Hawkeye reuse Jyn and Hans head pieces. Honestly though, stoked for these sets! Can't wait for the Spider Hood, been hoping for that since it appeared in Infinity War, Hydro Man is pretty good looking. Just not how to feel about Molten Man, but after we see how he really looks in the film, I'll have a better judgement. Really love the Stark Jet though! Disappointing the other two Elementals have been left out though, would have liked the brickbuilts Sandman (even if it isn't Sandman in film, I would have used it as such). Happy really just doesn't strike me as Jon Favreau, but it's cool to get him regardless
Mandalorianknight Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I don't really like these sets. The bridge one is the only one that I really think is good, i like all the builds but the weird hydro-man thing, and the minifigures are good as well. But instead of a ditko suit we get 3 mysterios? 3? And the molten man's face looks like something from nexo knights. I'm not getting any of these, except maybe buying the spider-hood and mysterio on bricklink.

I think it's more of the Advance Tech Suit problem who shares with 8 different characters and those characters doesn't even have new face printing, atleast in this Spidey wave, you have the beanie, torso for Peter, as for MJ you have a new face print. Mysterio? I dunno probably 2 sets includes him is okay but 3? I think it's a waste spot but I don't know they might be using alot of the new mold.
Aethersprite Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 The FFH sets are SO much better than the Endgame sets. I actually really like all of them, but the Hydro Man set is the standout. I can't believe they got one of the most recognizable bridges in Venice in a Spidey set!

I assume the multiple Mysterio is LEGO'S way of saying "sorry it took so long to finally release this big Spider Man villain, here's 3 of him". In the same spirit as Loki, you could model the multiple Mysterios (Mystria?) to showcase him making illusions of himself

A fire extinguisher that make sense in a superhero line
GoldenNinja3000 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 The sets look great and the box art is beautiful. All have great builds (especially Molten Man!) and the bridge set reminds me of Attack on Lake-town. I feel like Hydro-Man should’ve been brickbuilt based on what we see in the trailer though, and missing the other two Elementals is disappointing. Stark’s jet looks fine, but reminds me a lot of the Justice League Javelin ship and looks more like a spaceship than a plane. The figures are pretty good but three Mysterios is a total waste and he doesn’t come with a head and hair piece in any set?? Fireman is a waste and only four figures in a $70 set is extremely disappointing. The lack of a black and red Spidey suit is irritating and while the Peter Parker figure is great, I wish they would’ve included the new suit in the plane set. Happy Hogan is a bad figure. He looks like a generic suit guy- the face and hair look nothing like Jon Favreau. I would’ve preferred Michelle, stealth suit Spidey, and the fireman in the Molten Man set, Mysterio, Peter, Ned, and Hydro-Man in the bridge, and Mysterio, black and red suit Spidey, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Happy Hogan with a new face print in the plane. It’s stupid that they couldn’t include Maria Hill (who could easily reuse pieces like Happy does) but they can include Mysterio in every set and a generic fireman. I really like the sets, don’t get me wrong, but I think they made some mistakes with the figure spots just like they did with the Endgame sets.
The_Chosen_1 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 This might just be my favorite wave of MCU sets ever! Such a fantastic selection of great builds (Molten Man and Venice look fantastic!) and minifigures (mask-up Peter!!!). Really looking forward to these, and they make up for the lackluster Endgame sets in my mind.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 76128 - One of my favourite Marvel sets ever, Molten Man is incredible! Minifigures are great (exclusive Spidey). 76129 - Amazing set! Also may be one of my favourite Marvel sets. Build is fantastic, I love the bridge and the buildings! Minifigures are amazing, I love Peter minifig, but MJ looks bad tho. Black hair and that... hoodie. Hydro-Man looks good, but not great. Not accurate to the movie tho. 76130 - This is... bad. The build looks good, but interior is crampy, those stickered windows look bad. Drones look great. Minifigures are really bad. Homecoming Spidey, another Mysterio and that awful Happy. Truly awful. Nick Fury is amazing tho. Also, $70 for 504 pieces... This wave is great (two incredible sets and one bad set). Finally a Peter Parker minifig! But Mysterio shouldn't be in all 3 sets. It's much better than the Endgame wave tho.

Yes, I did see the head when it was leaked and LOVE it for her! Sorry, I meant to only critique the rest of the minifig but I guess that wasn't clear. I definitely plan on using that head as a basis to make a much better MJ!
shadefoundry Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 (edited) So I just saw the FFH sets, honestly I'm pretty happy with them. I love the Molten Man and Hydro Man sets, and they come with all the minifigures that I care about. The big set looks pretty uninteresting, so it's nice to be able to pass on it since I don't care about any of the exclusive figures and the Spidey looks like its the same from Homecoming so no loss on my end. Edited March 20, 2019 by shadefoundry
Captain-DeadPool Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Oooooh man! These sets caught me by suprise. I didn’t expect them to pop up so soon, but in the words of Palpatine, “a suprise to be sure, but a welcome one”. The molten man build looks great with all those transparent orange pieces and street signs and car parts attached to him, not to mention that goid looking stealth suit spidey minifigure (if I do get another one, I’ll definitely make a spiderman noir with that head). Definite a first day pick up for me! The venice set is also another good build with a neat little bridge build which is great for anyone wanting to make a venice MOC, and our first peter parker in around ten years! The hydro man build is a little odd and I’m not a fan of MJ’s hair piece, but hey, it’s lego. We can always modify those things with existing pieces. The stark jet, while a solid build, is easily passable for me (Since I already own the 2012 quinjet), though I’ll probably get fury on his own. Happy is a bit disappointing, but thankfully there are existing hair and head pieces that can easily replace those on him. I’m glad that they’ve included mysterio in all the sets, makes it easier for those who have a limited budget to get him without the exclusivity. Overall, I think the Far from home wave is a solid wave, and a breath of fresh air from the lack luster Endgame wave. For anyone wanting to make the ditko suit, you could possibly give the homecoming suit black arms and a black hip piece if that helps make the mini-figure look more black in color.
Balrogofmorgoth Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 (edited) MJ reuses the Jurassic World torso for one of the kids in the first wave, which also happens to be the same exact torso I used for a custom Ned so now I have to find something else so they don’t have the exact same torso. Also, her hair is terrible and will need to be replaced. I also wish that with three Mysterio minifigs atnkeast one of them had a head and hair instead of the fish bowl. Oh well. Shouldn’t be hard to customize. Fantastic sets overall though! Also, the great thing about Molten Man is that it will not be hard at all to turn him into a big brick built Surtur from Ragnarok. I may have to pick up two so I can do that with one of them Edited March 20, 2019 by Balrogofmorgoth
