These completely make up for the disappointing Endgame sets, just wow! Amazing selection of figures, the only real disappointment is the normal Spidey suit instead of the black and red one but I'm amazed we got MJ and Happy Hogan. I'm also very glad Mysterio is in every set and not just the most expensive one. Honestly having more than one is useful for conveying his illusions. I really like the molten man battle, that is an absolute must buy and the figures are excellent minus the random firefighter. The bridge battle has a fantastic build and I love that we finally get Peter Parker. I really like that he has is mask sitting on top of his head, that's an excellent use of the beenie piece to convey his mask being pulled up. Hydro-man looks good and I'm glad to get confirmation that it's actually Hydro-man (same with Molten-man) rather than just a nameless elemental. I'm a little disappointed we don't get all the elementals though. The Stark jet set looks great but I have a feeling the artwork is misleading as I guarantee Mysterio is controlling the drones to attack the jet and the box art is a misdirect to avoid spoiling the "twist" that Mysterio will be the bad guy(what a shock lol). Too bad they couldn't have included another elemental here and maybe Maria Hill as well. Molten-man Battle and Hydro-man Attack are must-haves! Stark Jet and Drone Attack --while nice-- doesn't hold a ton of appeal for me nor does it have a very good fig selection save for Nick Fury. It's nice to get Happy but he's inaccurate and not super appealing to me.

I would have liked one of the three Mysterio's to have a helmet-less version, seeing as that's how he's appeared in the trailer. I'm also pretty disappointed in the lack of a black/ red suit. But the Hydro-man set might just be my favorite Marvel set in a while.

I don't like them having a generic firefighter in the Molten man set. While I'm always looking for civilians in the Superheroes sets, I think that it's a real wasted potential with all the figures we still haven't gotten from those movies.

Far From Home set thoughts;

  • Molten Man Battle's inclusion of Mysterio and the Stealth Suit variant is an interesting choice, being the cheapest of the three sets. Molten Man himself looks interesting, but does not really look like the shots of Molten Man we have seen so far. Maybe he gains a bulky form later on, kind of like Sandman in Spider-man 3, but would have preferred a figure version of Molten Man instead of the Fireman or in addition to the Fireman.
  • Hydro-Man Attack is probably my favourite set of the wave. The build looks good and the figure selection works well. Hydro-Man being a minifigure is great for adding alongside Sandman, but personally think he'd have been more suited to getting a brick-built figure than Molten Man. The half-masked Peter Parker seems to be inspired by a few knock-off's and custom figures, it's nice that Lego is taking ideas from them to use here.
  • Stark Jet and the Drone Attack is easily the weakest set of the wave, the figure selection would work if Spider-man recieved his variant Red/Black costume and Happy Hogan was more accurate - but otherwise the only reason to get this would be an innacurate Happy Hogan and a Nick Fury variant.

Overall, the Far From Home sets express more creativity and effort with the builds than the majority of the Endgame sets, but express similar issues of re-use and repeated figures (admittedly this time with figures people want). The re-use of Mysterio three times is an interesting choice allowing people to get a few spare Mysterio, but at the same time this makes more expensive sets less appealing when you will already have 2/4 of the figures of the 'Stark Jet and the Drone Attack' as you almost certainly brought the Homecoming Vulture/Shocker set which included an Iron Man variant. The inclusion of more civilian characters is another interesting choice and while i am sure people wanted to get Michelle, Nick Fury and Happy Hogan - only Nick Fury has any level of accuracy with neither of the other figures looking accurate.

The main downside of these sets is the missing figures - Sandman (Earth Elemental) and Electro (Wind Elemental?) are not included and we also lack any variation in Mysterio such as an unmasked form OR Spider-man's red/black suit. It kind of feels like this was originally two sets;

  1. Mysterio, Stealth Spider-man, Happy Hogan
  2. Hydro-man, Michelle, Peter Parker, Nick Fury

With the jet being a last minute addition and the moving of figures resulting in Mysterio being replicated, inclusion of the Fireman to fill the figure slot in the cheapest set and the addition of a repeat Spider-man in the Jet set.

I’m surprised that I don’t really like the Jet set, because that was the one I was most anticipating. But due to Mysterio being in the other 2 sets, and no black and red Ditko suit for Spidey, I can save my money and just get the other two sets for more or less the same price. Those smaller sets really are great, Molten Man especially is really cool and well done. Might be one of my favorite Marvel builds.

I didn’t even think about how inaccurate MJ’s hair is, but wow. That hairpiece is a pretty bad choice. She has brown hair in the first place and her hair is frizzy, not in a smooth ponytail. And they already have frizzy hairpieces that would work from Andrea from Friends so I don’t understand why they gave her that long black ponytail.

I really like the Venice set, but I wish we got a better MJ and new face for Peter. I don’t care about the other two sets (besides Nick Fury, and the other new Spidey is pretty nice), although I might pick them up after watching the film.

I really wish we got Spidey’s red and black suit though, that’s a huge missed opportunity unless we get it in another set or Bricktober pack or something.

Other than the 3 amazing figs that already leaked, these sets aren’t doing anything for me.

My 3 biggest problems:

- Happy looks like Martin Li/Mr. Negative.

- If someone made that Hydro Man as a MOC they’d get laughed at. Blockiest build in a while.

- I would have loved to have a Molten Man figure instead of a Lego City fireman. Now we’re stuck with this beast of a Fire Elemental.

True. That way I could display him together with Hydro-man I mean it would look good. But it is what it is.

Hmmmmm. What if Lego decided not to make the Black and Red (Ditko) suit for Spiderman because they know it will be used going forward (Spiderman 3) they can potentially make a set for it in the future.

What do you guys think?

Have you noticed that transparent blue 2x2 pieces from the Hydro-Man stand have printing?

Looks sticker to me.

Anyone else think it's a really strange decision to include Mysterio in every set? Certainly not complaining because it's a great figure but it certainly strikes me as a departure from the standard LEGO business model when it comes to new figures.

Have I come to the right website? Peter, Michelle, Happy and it appears Hydro Man have no leg printing, Happy, Peter and Firefighter all reuse a head piece, Michelle reuses the torso from Jurassic World, Mysterio is repeated in all 3 sets, Spidey is the exact same as Homecoming. This is really unlike you guys, everyone complained about the Outriders and Chitauri having no leg printing, or that Black Widow and Hawkeye reuse Jyn and Hans head pieces.

I think the primary complaint about the Endgame figures was how a lot of characters are getting new unique suits in the film and they didn't make any of those (except for Iron Man). Instead we just got a ton of QR suits, which is fine, and an overload of Outriders (who all are exactly the same as last years wave, which already had 4). This wave may not give the most accurate representation of characters but at least they're giving us what we want.

It’s stupid that they couldn’t include Maria Hill (who could easily reuse pieces like Happy does) but they can include Mysterio in every set and a generic fireman. I really like the sets, don’t get me wrong, but I think they made some mistakes with the figure spots just like they did with the Endgame sets.

Honestly, Hill would've been a perfect replacement for the fireman

I would've preferred 2 sets. The Stark Jet is just so unappealing except for that Fury figure

The new mold. They want to abUSE it.

I just had a thought. There are 2 missing elementals, and 2 enemy drones. Could they be some sort of elemental controller used by Mysterio, and the drones are actually Sandman and Zephyr without the elemental outer shell?

That won't happen until after 2021/2022 when Spider-Man 3 comes out

But it make sense, coz they still have the chance to make it rather than nothing at all.

Do you feel that's a good thing or a bad thing? :shrug_confused:

Good in a way they can make use of their money, I really don't mind getting him in all 3 sets. The fig is fantastic. Give all those kids their Mysterio.

That makes sense. I can't see too many other characters using that mold, other than maybe Mr. Freeze?

Highly likely.

Does anyone know who else uses Happy’s face print? I don’t think it’s new but I can’t remember where else it’s from

It's new for 2019, SW also use it for Kaz.

You think not? No potential for 1950's Spacemen CMFs? :sing:

Joking aside, they can at least reuse the mold for future comic-based Mysterio figures.

Yeah I don't think so.. too rounded hmmmm but we'll know. There's an upcoming mr. freeze set. We haven't seen the full fig yet. So we'll wait.
