Fenghuang0296 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 All the sets were based on concept art, remember? Maybe there was a draft of the movie where Thanos had a hammer, and the designers thought it would be more interesting than just duplicating the sword.

Do you maybe have a picture of the posters or the promo itself? 17 minutes ago, Feng-huang0296 said: All the sets were based on concept art, remember? The ''based on concept art'' thing always comes up when talking about marvel sets. But if all toy companies are basically developing they're toys around the same time why do other companies ALWAYS have more accurate character depictions?!
Legocity2713 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Can anyone who has the Hall of Armor tell me if it can accomodate an Iron Patriot fig with his shoulder gun attatchment on?

Sorry, it won't. But there is enough room for you to put a plate with a clip under his feet and attach the shoulder gun there, so it's still, like, there.

Thats unfortunate but its good that it can at least be put somewhere.
legosamsonite Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Bought the cap motor bike and iron man polybag yesterday, then went back for the armor room but came back with the molten man battle and the hydro man attack set!!! Can't wait to build them up this weekend

Maybe they didn't want to make new molds and just kind of gave up. They had no qualms about giving us the butterknife last year. The thing about that is there are plenty of existing pieces that would work just fine for it. Heck, 2 Urak hai swords attached in the middle with a lightsaber hilt would look just about right if not a bit small. Who knows, maybe he'll use a hammer in one scene or we may find out his weapon can transform like Cull Obsidian's could. I managed to pick up the War Machine Buster at Target for 20% off with an additional 5% thanks to the red card. I think the only Endgame set not on sale is Cap's bike which isn't a big deal. Honestly if I hadn't just bought the 20th anniversary Slave I the other day I likely would have grabbed the Hall of Armor too. The WM Buster is a great set, I love it! I've always liked War Machine's armors more than Ironman's tbh. This one looks excellent next to the IW Hulkbuster. My only real gripes are the limited arm articulation and the really poor design for the flick fire missile pod. The gatling gun doesn't look so bad if you keep the underside of it covering the shoulder. I'm going to be pretty disappointed though if this armor doesn't show up in the movie-- hopefully with a much better name.
Fenghuang0296 Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Hey, so as some of you will know I'm working on filling slots in my Hall of Armour with Iron Man suits. Next on my 'buckethead list' is the Iron Skull Sub attack, because, depending on how you look at it, it sort of comes with two Iron Man suits. The Mark 37/"Hammerhead", and the actual Iron Skull armour. (I honestly don't care for Red Skull much, I'll probably use the head for a custom 'Vormir Skullwraith' minifigure. Point is, as I was tossing up whether or not I should display the Avengers Assemble-canon Iron Skull armour in the Hall of Armours, it occurred to me that it was, essentially, an Iron Man suit in black/silver/red with no associated helmet. And the Quantum War Machine fig from the War Machine Buster set has, essentially, an Iron Man helmet in black/silver/red with no associated suit. I'm not sure what I'd call this mashup suit, or use it as, but a significant factor in my decision will be how good the two armour parts look together. So is there anyone on here who has both sets and can throw the parts together and show us how it looks?
SEmrys Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Managed to pick up the Quinjet half-price (without figures) on eBay the other day. Great set, really love the way it's come together. Only problem is I planned to display it alongside the Benatar, but it's so big it makes the Guardians ship look less impressive in comparison

A Hulkbuster or that little M-ship from the Tazerface set from GotG2 or something?

benderisgreat Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Ok, so I got Avengers Compound set and it’s as disappointing as everyone says it is. Basically a City police station on white with Avengers logos poster around. The only good thing is new Thanos and to lesser extent Hulk. And to think for a 100$ last year we got great Sanctum Sanctorum set...
SpiderJazz Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 I tried my best, but couldn't find a background that works perfect for the scene. "Work is done, I won." PS. I'm just so inlove with the custom mold Stormbreaker that I have bought.

If they are purist I'm betting he got himself a Newt Scamander figure from the HP CMF Series and removed the printing, as far as I know he's the only one with dual molded legs in those colors

Those are Newt Scamander legs, I erased the printing using eraser (Staedtler) looks good imo. If TLG is generous enough to give us a Stormbreaker mold, this could be it. (Unfortunately, they aren't generous) There's so many custom weapon in the market, but I chose this cos it captures the color scheme of the Lego and it fits with the design of Lego, unlike other brands that overly done that doesn't look like Lego anymore. Thoughts on the piece?

I'll try to post a picture of it as soon as possible, just trying to figure out how to best take the pictures After having build the Quinjet and Hoa (and having seen the others in person as well) its mindblowing to me how this wave is so close and yet so far away from being a good wave. Most of the sets would be great if they had slight adjustments, while the Compound and Bike sets need complete overhauls. My thoughts: Cap Bike: Replace the bike with something like a small turret, or a car. Replace two of the Outriders with Chitauri (we already have an Outrider battlepack) and replace the other Outrider with a QR-suit hero, maybe Iron-Man. This would bring down the price and the QR-suits would be exclusive to this set, meaning the other sets would feature the new suits. Buster: Replace the QR-suits with normal suits: new suit for War Machine and AatW reuse for Ant-Man. Build and Outriders are fine. HoA: Replace the Mark 50 and 2 Outriders with a casual Tony Stark (maybe with the tank top from the teaser trailer) and Ravager Nebula (from IW). Build is fine, though Igor could get some improvements. Quinjet: Replace the trike and gattling-gun with a flyer as seen in 6865. Give the 4 heroes their respective new suits. Compound: Replace the Outrider and QR-suit Nebula with a brand new scale-suit Cap (preferably with legprinting). Remove the car, helicopter and garage and use those pieces to build up the main ''office'' section. This is my Benatar MOD for those who are interested to see it:
Bricky Dee Williams Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 (edited) @Guyon2002 I really like how you’ve managed to close up the gaps between pieces in the original set’s build. The cockpit looks fantastic, although I don’t know how well the double-seat construction would actually seat a minifgure in the center of it. The shape of the Benatar flows much better overall with the fewer breaks, and really pulls of that bird-like look we keep seeing in posters and trailers. Edited April 6, 2019 by Aegis2000

I basically just attach Star-Lord to the front seat with the butt-studs(?) and Gamora just sits in the middle of those two backseats

So far all I've done is messed around with the back fins (?) to make them longer like they are in the films. I'll have to study yours and see if I can capture that bulkier look you've achieved. I agree about the Quinjet (it's the only one I can comment on currently). That trike is a bit superfluous. Mine's been loaded into the back and will probably never make an appearance again. As for the Quantum/Tech Suits, that made buying the set without the minifigs a very easy decision.
