Joey Lock Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) Mega Bloks suck! :-X I would never resort to buying mega bloks if lego didn't end up making a pirate line. My eternal hatred for it burns. It BURNS! ;-) Let's just hope TLC comes through! ;-) I knew you would say that :-D I understnad but i just think there not like a disgrace to human race they didnt actually copy anything off lego. There is no law against making the same theme because the Pyrates of Full movable but lego isnt so theres a diffrence *y* Anywho Night All! Edited September 25, 2007 by Joey Lock Quote

Not something you build. However, no doubt it will have appeal to some. I got nothing against Megabloks as a maker of playsets. As a building toy... different story. Excellent....... (well, for those who like this kind of stuff anyway). Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted September 25, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) Thanks for posting this Joey. It is nice to look at this and to compare with the Lego ships. But its not really build with bricks. More like big parts that need to be assembled. No room for reusing the parts for MOCing. Scouty Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 It looks more like playmobile than Lego to me. I personally don't like MB very much. Quote
Siegfried Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 It looks more like playmobile than Lego to me. That was my exact thought! I can't see this making Lego interested in bringing back pirates. Personally I think Lego will bring them back in 08 or 09. These things take time. Quote
Corvus Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 This thing looks decent sitting there, sure, but to me it's really just a slightly more detailed, cheaper plastic Playmobile set. I'm not sure how it's considered a building set. :-/ Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Meh, I find Megablocks mediocre. So what if they have a pirate line? We will soon too. Quote
Sir Norman Ray Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Meh, I find Megablocks mediocre. So what if they have a pirate line? We will soon too. I agree, it is only a matter of time before once more LEGO sets for the high seas. Also, in regards to this ship and its design, all I can think of is "DO YOU WANT ACTION FORCE TO SINK THIS SHIP?!" I need coffee... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 26, 2007 Governor Posted September 26, 2007 Everybody was saying the same thing 5 years ago... And there indeed was a Pirate Line in 2004 and again in 2006 - but they weren't the Pirate lines the AFOLs wanted X-D Quote

And there indeed was a Pirate Line in 2004 and again in 2006 - but they weren't the Pirate lines the AFOLs wanted X-D Yeah, they were freakin 4+ pirates :-X Hmm... what's worse, 4+ or Megabloks (sorry for cursing X-D )? I'm still gonna have to say 4+ is still better, cause the bricks can be mixed with my legos without any problems. ;-) P Edited September 28, 2007 by phred Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 28, 2007 Governor Posted September 28, 2007 I found many problems when trying to MOC Catapult Raft. I concluded you need to make large MOCs for the 4+ sets to be of any use. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 The ship looks reasonable, but you can't rebuild it to your own taste... For that i don't like it, but it's great for kids i think. Quote
Tanotrooper Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 they copied playmobil! the new playmobil pirate ship looks just like this (check www.playmobil.de if you want to)... (conquistadores in january X-D ) anyone tried using those muskets or pistols with lego? TT Quote
Capn Frank Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 ...anyone tried using those muskets or pistols with lego? ... You better not be suggesting what i think you're suggesting 8-o Mixing clone bricks with Lego; is that what you are talking about? ;-) P Quote
Wout Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 As Mega Blocks set: I've seen worser piratessets from Mega Blocks. (no, I also don't like Megablocks, but it is not necessary to say everytime about a megablocks set thet you hate it, because most people here don't want to buy Megablocks) As a pirate play set: some nice figs with a parrot, a nice boat with a little boat. it looks well enough. Hint to Lego: If you copy something like this, but then built with lego, I think it would be a good seller. :-D ;-) Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 One of the things that I've always wanted to see in a Lego Pirate theme is a combination of a lighthouse and some sort of Spanish fortress. Playmobil provides such a set with their new Soldier Fortress (#4294): Box Here's the actual set with an additional Pirate ship that really floats: Display Complete with a battery powered lighthouse flame, I think a set like this in Lego would be awesome. Share your thoughts. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 This would look great in LEGO form! Playmobil often seems to have good ideas for sets. I would really like to see something like this in the future. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 This is a great set indeed, but the best about lego is that you can make one yourself or mod it to your likings. Quote
Adam Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 oo7 has made a MOC that fits your description somewhat. Quote
Norrington Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I recently discovered a pirate sloop that Playmobil made. At least it's ships are reasonably accurate (I plan to paint the sloop like the Lady Washington, at some point) 3174 It has alternatively released as: 3860 5819 3055 (my favourite) A line of sloops from LEGO would be nice. Heck, playmobil sold extra rigging and sails so that you could turn a pirate ship could be turned Imperial. Quote

Playmobil also released this smaller Pirate Dinghy (#4444): It's a great set for the price. Quote

Don't worry folks! Oo7 has come to the rescue! Have you seen his Primage Rock Lighthouse yet - it's terrific! Now all we need to do is convince the LEGO Group to mass produce his MOC Quote

Have you seen his Primage Rock Lighthouse yet - it's terrific! Now all we need to do is convince the LEGO Group to mass produce his MOC I don’t think Pirate Factory is beyond the realms of possibility it the future to be honest. More on topic, Playmobil has produced a lot of quite intresting Pirate sets but apart from having a better range of sloops I think their ‘Naval’ faction has always been a bit week and lacking, though if TLC took some inspirations ie more ships in different sizes I wouldn’t object.
