Bartybum Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Nice review! Do you think you could send some photos of the pages with prototype builds? Quote

Agree completely...it would be nice to see some building stages. The only complain is that you chose "music" that I do not like other things about video are good ? Quote

I was watching/listening to a TV doco so I had the volume turned off. EDIT: Also I just realised that at 15:30 the elbow of the arm flexes. What’s up with that @myHeadz? The panels that hold the arm together were not added to the arm yet. I guess they play a bigger role than expected. Quote

Bartybum Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Oh my god the prototype excavator builds are so amazing. Why Lego whyyyy Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 I MUST get that yellow bucket!! Nice review! I don’t think I will pick this one up, but cool nonetheless. I want to se someone make it RC! Quote

Thank you for the images of those prototypes, where did you find those? Cool that they were included in the manual, I would like to see that for all Technic models. There are some interesting looking concepts in the line-up, I really like the quad track excavators: Edited July 27, 2018 by Cumulonimbus Quote
Bartybum Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) These pics really make me wish Lego would give designers free reins with specialised parts, especially for smaller sets. Some great looking builds can come from using them. It’s so tiring getting almost nothing but liftarms and panels. Edited July 27, 2018 by Bartybum Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Those prototype pics are beyond incredible! What a great feature for the manual. @Cumulonimbus, it would indeed be superb to see this sort of thing in regular Technic again. Sets like 8446 had concept drawings and schematics in between sections of the instructions. Manuals are a bit too plain these days: build it, here's a quick rundown of the functions, done. It'd feel more immersive and creative if TLG went that extra mile. Edited July 27, 2018 by Maaboo35 Quote

Erik Leppen Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 That pneumatic thing would have been really cool as a set. What makes it cool to me is that it seems to be really bare-bones and to-the-point with no fuss, which is what Technic should be like IMO. This seems to be the version before the designer added 400 parts for "better looks". Quote
