calces24 Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Hello Everyone, I am a new member, but I have been a technic builder for may years. Lego I think is a wonderful world and it amazes me how adaptable it can be. I do hope you like this as this is my first posting on any forum. It's still a WIP, there has been a lot of fine tuning but most of the features of the real machine are incorporated. This model has working suspension, 2 cylinder overhead cam engine with working valves, 2 speed sequential gearbox, working clutch & headlights. There are a couple of modified parts, the cam that operates the gearbox and the sump guard underneath the engine. Otherwise it is all 100% lego. The cam I hope to replace with the new orange wave selector at somepoint. Due to the scale the lego wheels and tyres are slightly too small. The Honda badge is printed onto normal inkjet paper and stuck onto the lego raised round bricks with PVA. The small lego motor powers the motocycle quite nicley, I hope to do a video soon when time allows. In order to ensure smooth running all of the moving parts, these have been lubricated using an oil pen "Hob-E-Lube" (HL654) used in model railways. This does not affect the lego gears in anyway. The engine and lights are on in ths shot. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Very nice job! The windshield reminds me of 8420. Quote
WvG_853 Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Very impressive. I think it is the first time I have seen a Lego Technic motor cycle with integrated PF motor. The integration is visually very smooth. I’m looking forward to the video to see the functions you describe. A great way to introduce yourself to Eurobricks! Quote
bonox Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 very nice. Might you consider the front wheel of the 8420 as being closer to the 21/18" set? Quote
Sariel Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Sorry for criticizing, but the proportions look way off. See the pic below, your model - when viewed from a side - appears to be considerably too tall, too short, and with significantly too small wheels. I would recommend starting by finding a blueprint of the real bike, and then using this: http://scaler.sariel.pl/ Quote
calces24 Posted July 30, 2018 Author Posted July 30, 2018 No problem, criticism is good. As I said earlier it is a WIP. The challenge here is to build functionality into a small area. Its a pity that Lego don't produce larger wheels/tyres that would help. Quote
grum64 Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 An impressive way to introduce yourself. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Quote
calces24 Posted August 11, 2018 Author Posted August 11, 2018 As promised You Tube video showing some of the features. Enjoy. Quote
pagicence Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I really like the working functions of it. Quote

trekman Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Could do with some Lego flex system parts there. Quote

AFOLegofan66 Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Really nice bike MOC...keep up the good work!! Quote
Hefe Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Generally nice MOC but for me on the first look it seems to be more an Ducati Multistrada with that bulky frontend. Quote
