Crane and transporter are $140 and $230 CAD.

That equals ~ €100 and €150, that's not too bad at all... (not taking into account the price differences between continents and countries...)

I figured the transporter might have been a bit more expensive...

Spoiler

Pure speculation, nothing confirmed, but here are my 2cts on how functional transporter will be: truck will likely have only steering and manual raising/lowering upper bed and ramps (with XL LA and directional gear/switchbox?), little car just steering and maybe fake engine like corvette. Nothing much to write home about technically, so it has to look (really) good to score some extra points...

In Germany it will be €149,99

Looks like 42099 has pendular suspension. Front axle is connected via big turntable to the front.

And it looks like it has red shocks from Porsche (42056)

And all of that is based on this one blurry image?!

A little bit less blurry

But people invented Photoshop ...

C'mon... It is not CSI. You cannot unblurry this only image we have. But when looking closer and looking for mentioned partas, next to right front wheel there is some part which can be the black part of big turntable. And next to left front wheel there is light red part which can be two red shock absorbers mounted next to each other.

Not that much, but can make them w bit better and since complete axle is red I assume that it uses red shocks with hard spring like Porsche set 42056. Of course images are not as on CSI but as you correctly mentioned I'm also thinking like you and it looks to me like there is usage of double bent liftarms due to length and thickness of axle or could be some new part like (for example) frame in Liebherr

Car Transporter seems big but just too bland.
Around 1 meter ish long. 3 of the 42093's car fit on the top. With some space left.

If they're mounted near the suspension pivot point, they don't need to have much travel, only to be stiffer. And, if what people are saying about the Porsche's red shocks is true, that need is covered.

Assuming the shocks are mounted 2.5 studs from the central pivot, the most travel you'll get on a 23-stud-wide axle is 1.5 studs on either side, which seems pretty disappointing for a crawler. Moreover, the shock absorbers would be constantly compressed. A much better solution is something like this:

640x381.jpg

I used this on my first rough terrain crane and it worked superbly - the shock absorbers were uncompressed at rest and the axle had 5 studs' travel on either side.

@suffocation that could actually be the solution, but if I remember correctly there were discussing about new hubs with reduction?!?...so instead if portal axle hub we get those new hubs?

I brought it up because a few posts earlier it emerged that 42099 has pendular suspension, which requires a couple of tricks to be truly effective. Obviously the planetary hubs are far more interesting and, hopefully, have a better pivot point than the current portal hubs

That depends on offset. Currently 56 X 34 wheel has 1 stud negative offset and (I think) Porsche wheel has positive offset...

Short explanation can be read here

I thought it depends on the way the wheel is mounted. If the wheel is mounted on one side the offset is negative, while if on the other side, the offset is positive.
