Shadows Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I'm gonna try this out. Is my character fine? I just met him in the forest. He seems like a good lad. You know, if you renamed him something similar to Aluvar, maybe people could get us confused. :-D
Khorne Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 Okay, as I seem to been unable to quote people ( |-/ ), I'll just say it. Concerning the "playing" the other members' characters it is as someone already stated: you can control them to get the story going on, but your own character takes priority. On another note, I'll be out of computer for I don't know how long, so you'll just have to solve your problems on your own, I trust you'll be able to manage ;-) .
Dragonator Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 No, we're being abandoned! *sing* X-D I'm sure we will be fine, this game has really taken off! If we use common sense and respect other players then I'm sure we will be fine. *sweet*
DNL Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 (edited) Maybe it's a good idea to make smaller detailed maps of each country, with the villages, castles, cities mountains and rivers on it? We can update them when someone makes up a new village/city/place/castle. I can make a map of the kingdom of the CrownKnights, i already made up a village, an estate, a castle and a city/palace. EDIT: Or we could do it on the big map.. Edited April 5, 2008 by DNL
Dragonator Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 That is a good idea. Then we can see where all the cities are. I would be happy to provide a map of the Dragon Masters Kingdom. There are a few places that it would be a good idea to mark in for people... ;-) I can have it done in a few days. *sweet*
DNL Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 L9 On the Open RoadMike was a messenger. He didn't want to be a messenger, but "somebody has to do it", as his mother used to say. This time he had been given the important task of traveling to the Crownie Kingdom to request their King's presence at a meeting of great importance. He had not been told it was important, but he guessed as much, and felt honoured to have been the one chosen to carry the message. Sighing, he dug in his heels and speed his steed, Cheery, onwards towards the waiting King... Dragonator, maybe my character (Iroled, the crownknightsking's highest advisor) can come with te king to the meeting? he is travelling to the king right now. (see the adventure thread)
Silent Help Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Does anybody know how far a character can move in one day on foot, on horse back, and on a dragon? I've looked, but I couldn't find anything. I was guessing 1 square per day on foot, 2 on horse back, and 3 if you are on a dragon Silent Help
DNL Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 (edited) 1 square per two days on foot and 1 square per day on horseback ;-) Edited April 5, 2008 by DNL
Silent Help Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Thank you very much, it sounds familiar. But so that my mind can be at rest, I ask that you can tell me where it may be found. (My mind likes to solve puzzles and it gets bothered when it fails.) Silent Help
Dragonator Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Dragonator, maybe my character (Iroled, the crownknightsking's highest advisor) can come with te king to the meeting? he is travelling to the king right now. (see the adventure thread) Yes, that would be fine, when the messenger arrives in the story, make sure your there! ;-) He will take a while to reach the king though... 8-|
Inertia Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Do the Dwarves have a faction leader, by the way I made a character and joined the thread. I'm going to be busy with work so I'm only gonna be able to get online on weekends for the next 2 weeks. Edited April 6, 2008 by Inertia
Belloq Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) I agree too, a God is taking it WAY to far. Not to mention how powerful Belloq's made him, and the fact he can just control all Orcs and Bull Knights AND has a beast from hell and whatnot is stretching it to breaking point.Batbrick Away! >:-) There, I crossed out the beast, and no ( Kings/ Higher rulers doesn't always have absolute control over their factions, there have been several revolts throughout history (French Revolution anyone?) Though it would be kinda mean if the factions revolted, its always fun to have those who are obidient, those who are evil, and those who are rebels ;-) Afterall, I havent taken out the position or king, there can still be both an orc and Bull knight king or queen, no one said anything about those positons being removed. And one last thing, being a "god" doesnt make a character either overly powerful or invincible, all it gives a character is elevated mysticism and a higher rank. Zant keeps his castle in constant motion because he fears for his "immortal" soul. And I forgot to add something, anyone can communicate with him if the have the right tools ( a pedestal one of three gesms spread throughout the kingdom, two of which are held by the kings of orc and bull knights, and the other one that is waiting to be found) Edited April 6, 2008 by Belloq
Silent Help Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Here are a couple of reasons to tone down you character alot. Number one, we aren't trying to kill each other, but work together. From your point of view all you need is servants. Number two, a god? All that is left for your character to do is take over the entire world. (I think a god would qualify as something not allowed, considering we can not be dragons or talking monsters.) Another thing to note is that no one else completely controls a faction. The closest would be Dragonator. Ok, so you don't completely control over it, but you are still insanely powerful. (You are more powerful than the dark wizard.) Please consider making a new character, even though the one you have now is great. Thank you, for participating in this Role Playing Game. Silent Help

Silent Help I re-read what I wrote and realized that it became apparent why you all freaked out. I may have overdone a few parts, and others I wrote incorrectly. Now all Zant is is a figure worshipped by the bull knight queen who feeds war adviise and conquest maneuvers into her ever waiting ear. She usually complies, bu there are moments, brief, bu they do exist, when she refuses an order but then complies. Brainwashing anybody?

NO Zants, NO gods, PEOPLE from factions. The end. Anyway, you are STILL too powerful, pretty much having the bull knights at your command is silly, just get a dwarf or knight as your character or something. Batbrick Away! >:-)

Batbrick Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 There, look at my character, are you happy now? Short answer: yes. You really need to lose the attitude though, I mean seriously, its just meant to be fun, can't have fun with an all powerful God character involved ;-) Batbrick Away! >:-)
Deinonychus Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Short answer: yes.You really need to lose the attitude though, I mean seriously, its just meant to be fun, can't have fun with an all powerful God character involved ;-) Batbrick Away! >:-) Exactly. Nothing kills an RPG faster then godmodding, munchkining, and powergaming. Second biggest killer...getting so wrapped up in your own subplots that you don't or can't interact with other players.

ANyway, thats just character one. Can my other characters have small abbilities (like the thunder one) if not, just say so gently. Also, how high up in the ranks can one character be? Cause I was thinking of an axe wielding queen. (not superpowerful, just, vicious :-D )
WhiteFang Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 1 square per two days on foot and 1 square per day on horseback ;-) DNL, thanks for that short info! I was thinking on the movement! Haha, if i bring a small group of soliders with me, should i consider them on foot? Or on horseback? Because i am riding on a horse *sweet*
Silent Help Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 My guess would be that if they are also on horseback or in a carriage then you would go one square at a time. However if they are actually walking then you probably need to go 1/2 a square per day. Could some one please confirm this? Silent Help
Scouty Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I just met him in the forest. He seems like a good lad.You know, if you renamed him something similar to Aluvar, maybe people could get us confused. :-D Nice meeting you. You know, I am also trying to sell stuff as well :-D :-P .
iamded Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Say, which of the territories is the Dragon Masters? X-D Maybe we should make a map with a small name under all the shield, jut to clarify things. For example, how there are 2 dragon shields with different colouring, and 2 Viking shields, some clarification as to which is what would be nice. *sweet* ~Peace
Dragonator Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 The Dragon Masters is the dragon shield with the green around it. The one with the blue background is for the Black Knights. They are friends, blood related or something like that... X-D I agree though, a labellec map would be nice. *sweet*
