Cooter Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 I wouldn't be surprised to see two more sets in april-june like in 2017 (Ferrari FxxK and McLaren 720s). I'd like a Ferrari Fxxk Evo or a rally car (like Fiesta WRC) PS why does Bugatti Chiron cost so much now? Quote
Johnny1360 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Just now, Cooter said: PS why does Bugatti Chiron cost so much now? I wasn't aware it does, maybe the demand for it has gone up. I guess maybe people that get the Technic Bugatti also want it's little brother to display alongside it. I am correct in assuming the Speed Champions one is discontinued, right? Quote

Graham711 Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Saw the Lego Movie 2 and in one of the scenes of the human children there’s a speed champions size silver Chevy Silverado on the desk in the basement. Quote

mcmarta Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I hope they make Mercedes G 4x4 squared or Mercedes G 6x6, it would be perfect nice square shape. Quote

It's for me a no-brainer when they would ever release this! I'm no fan of trucks either, but these are fantastic! By the way: WILL there be a second wave of SC in 2019? Any rumours heard yet? Quote
Vectormatic Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Guys, can we please keep the unfounded wishlisting to its own topic? Quote
Johnny1360 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 (edited) As great as those two vehicles are, I don't really consider them to be champion speedsters. I know they did the Ford Raptor but it was towing a Hotrod. I would think that if we ever see another non-speedy vehicle it would likely be the Chevy Silverado from TLM2, likely again with some sort of Hotrod on a trailer. bootz Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 So I had to go to 3 Walmarts before I found the Camaro ZL1 today. Plenty of other Speed Champions, but I got the only ZL1 in a 30 mile radius apparently. Swapped the stickers from 75871 on to it, it looks fantastic. I hope we get another NASCAR stock car. Quote
Johnny1360 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 (edited) So now you have a Chevrolet Camero with Ford Mustang branding? Edited March 4, 2019 by Johnny1360 Quote

Well, the actual race cars have virtually the same body with manufacturer specific fascias that mostly amount to stickers anyway, I applied the same thinking to the set. It looks better than the Camaro imo. https://photos.app.goo.gl/2tiNtYTnTSgu1ToJ7 https://photos.app.goo.gl/6RLuTLt4TmrzDvn38 https://photos.app.goo.gl/m7qh1s8fUecUW4pH9 Quote
Johnny1360 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Okay I get it, want to make a street version of the Camero but to call it a Mustang seems a bit weird, to me anyway, still looks like a Camero. Quote
mcmarta Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 And i think we need one proper boxy police car as well. Some old USA Ford maybe, or something newer (not a supercar). Quote

Real NASCAR cars are literally the same body shell with different stickers to make them a "Camaro" or "Mustang" or "Charger" I think that the implementation of this is in LEGO is great! Quote

While that is true, he didn't make another NASCAR car he turned it into a street car with Ford branding. I think it would be great to make it into a different race car, in fact I may just do that. Maybe change some colors and a different number, change it into a Mustang NASCAR cool idea, thanks. Quote
bootz Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I intend to add racing stickers, this isnt meant to be a street car, I want it to be a cup Mustang. I want to keep all the stickers official Lego, so I'm searching around for number stickers that look right to me. I have to see what sticker sheets I still have unused in my own collection even. And I dont think it still looks like a Camaro or that it's a just Camaro with Ford branding. Leave the stickers off the set and it's just a generic race car much like the real thing, that's what gave me the idea in the first place. The next step after putting stickers on this is to do another car in an actual NASCAR livery, one of the Penske or Stewart-Haas cars. Quote
Johnny1360 Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 (edited) Fantastic, I look forward to seeing your mods, it is a great idea and a way to give the number 5 car some competition, until LEGO gets around to it, if ever. I find it a bit strange that it is an obvious NASCAR vehicle, yet TLG puts forth no such claim. I know NASCAR is very picky about their brand probably more so than LEGO. Edit; I believe the number 5 car was officially retired last year, after being run since NASCAR started, maybe that is how TLG pulled it off. Edited March 6, 2019 by Johnny1360 Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 If anyone here has any questions for designers of the Speed Champions theme, now's your chance! The Brothers Brick - Ask LEGO Anything: We’re Talking to LEGO, and We Want Your Help! [News] Quote Next week The Brothers Brick will be in Billund, Denmark at LEGO’s headquarters to talk with LEGO about how the company interacts with the fan community. That’s not all we’ll be doing though, as we’ll also have an opportunity to sit down with a handful of LEGO designers to pick their brains about your favorite themes. We want to give our readers a chance to get in on the action, so if you’ve got a burning question about one of these themes, you can fill out our form to submit your question. Just remember, LEGO designers can never talk about unannounced future products or plans, so there’s no point asking “will LEGO ever make Monorail again?” or “what sets are planned for next summer?” The design teams we’ll be speaking with include Creator Expert, Games (Video Games & Apps), Harry Potter, Hidden Side, Ideas, Jurassic World, and Speed Champions. Although the brand-new Hidden Side theme hasn’t been released yet, we did get a hands-on look at the sets back in February at the New York Toy Fair, and saw all the official set photos last week. We’ll also have a chat with Tormod Askildsen, LEGO’s Head of AFOL Engagement–that’s right, LEGO has a whole department dedicated to interacting with Adult Fans of LEGO (aka AFOLs). The department supports a variety of activities throughout the fan community, such as providing early access to sets for some of the reviews we do here on The Brothers Brick. If you’ve got a question about how LEGO thinks about adult builders, now is your time to ask it. Submit your questions here Since time will be limited, we can’t promise we’ll get to everyone’s questions, but we’ll ask as many as we can. Quote

Unless 75895 is the fourth single car set which is not what Lego did last year, they allowed for a space. Only time will tell now. There will be 75895 to be released in 2HY 2019, a 180 pieces set, which is supposed to be the fourth single car. https://fr.shopping.rakuten.com/offer/buy/3721160917/lego-75895-75895-conf-2019-lsc6-v29.html Quote

AllanSmith Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I believe that there will be another small SC set. A local toy shop owner who is also an AFOL told me of this awhile ago. Quote
