OpenBagTwo Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 (edited) Hate to say it, but that F40 is vastly inferior to the majority of MOCs I've seen at that scale. Super excited about the Nascar Camaro and the Mini set though. Also worth mentioning that both Creator 3-in-1 and City are getting minifigure-scale desert racers next year, so if you're looking to stage a Baja 1000 or Dakar Rally you're going to have plenty to work with. RacerRabbit Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) I honestly think that the '67 Mini Cooper may very well be the greatest design to grace the SC line. If you take a closer look at the car in the leaked image, it has a 4 wide middle with a 5 wide front and rear. It'll be very interesting to see how TLG have managed to make this sort of construction stable. I've tried my hand at this sort of construction before and let me tell you, it's a very fiddly, fragile job. Building that Mini is going to be fun as heck. The only real problem I see is that Lego hasn't released some of those pieces in a lot of colours. Like the rounded 3x4 roof piece or the Technic connectors where the headlights are. I really want to build the three Minis from The Italian Job but building the blue Mini is going to be impossible without custom painting. Edited November 25, 2018 by RacerRabbit Quote

The bigger mini doesn’t really interest me so I’m going to look at the instructions (usually released 1-2 days after street date) and build them in any obscene colour I can. I think I’ll try black. I, too, have tried this before, I managed a 6-wide mini which can House two minifigures in the front, and if memory serves me correctly, two in the back as well. I still need to change the rear to create an accurate mini though. I did try a 5-wide but didn’t get past the bonnet hahaha although I’ve been working other things since I’ve just forgotten about it, I haven’t really given up. Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 The Dodge set will have a 2018 Challenger and 1970 Charger. That should be interesting, I'm real curious how the Charger's curves will translate to Lego. posting at great personal risk of account being screenshotted and sent to lego, comrades remember my sacrifice Quote
Lawndart Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 I do love how historic cars have become a main stay in the series. Quote

Daanski Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) Besides the 5-wide Mini, I'm not really sold over the others sets. They look good, but I find them a bit meh. If the Dodge set is true, then I'm veeeery curious to see leaks of that set popping up in Insta. By the way: the wheels of the NASCAR Chevvy, are those new? The tire seem to be a bit thicker. Any thoughts about that? Edited November 25, 2018 by Daanski Quote

TeriXeri Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) That 67 Mini is amazing, but I don't like buggy added to the price/parts. Would have liked it a lot as a smaller set like the F40 is sold seperate. Even that Workshop could have been seperate and I'd be more interested. Kind of had the same feeling with the Green Porsche this year. Edited November 25, 2018 by TeriXeri Quote

madejp86 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 The mini is awesome. I wonder who will do the first Italian Job Mocs. The Chevy is so so, not to thrilled about that one. The F40, I've seen so many mocs, they should have done something different Quote

Cooter Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Do you think Mini Dune Buggy has working suspensions like the F150 Raptor? Quote
TheLegoPerson9 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Maybe it’s just me, but does anyone else feel like the images appeared earlier than previous waves? I don’t recall images of the 2018 sets being shown with everything else like City and Creator. I wonder if the release date is earlier than the previous waves, since images were leaked with all the sets that usually have their official releases in December/January. Quote

As soon as I read the first half to your post, I had the same thought about them getting released earlier. It isn’t until about January ish we see Speed Champion set images. Is there a press release anywhere? That might give us a clue. 2 hours ago, Cooter said: Do you think Mini Dune Buggy has working suspensions like the F150 Raptor? Considering the size, it’s definitely possible, I don’t know why the Designers would skip out on an opportunity like that. Quote
