I've been noticing a lot of negitive topics in the Star Wars sub-forum. they tell reasons why Star Wars will not be continueing, oftain those reasons are not true. I feel that we shouldn't allow these topics that oftain because it just is negative and can be hurtful to those fans who wish to talk about it. I, as a Lego Star Wars fan don't like it when I read posts about how bad (or how badly they are doing,ect...) LSW is. If you don't like them, don't buy them.

Just wundering whether I was the only person noticing this increase, or am I just overeacting to what is normal? And, if it's not normal, could someone look into it? Thanks.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the Star Wars theme the best-selling of all Lego themes now?

As for what you ask, people have the right to say if they don't like it. But of course, I hate rumours and people who love to spread them.

Yes, it is the best selling theme, that's what I really don't like about it. People do have the right to say this, it's just that they don't check their facks, and mostly are just spreading rumers that are annoying and not true.

weeeell people are allowed to express their views, even if that means they're negative about something you like a lot... that's all... in fact, we wouldn't even have topics if we'd all agreed about everything with each other... see it as an opportunity to change their mind *sweet*, but i understand that you're feeling annoyed about it...

Read on, my friend but never believe everything that's being said unless it's "confirmed." Look at it this way, there are alot of people in this forum who're knowledgeable and the truth eventually comes out in the end.

People are entitled to their opinions but the particular person who was creating too many negative topics and possibly just looking to stir up trouble is being dealt with. Apologies for any distress he caused you in the meantime.

Actually, it might be City, according to the LEGO annual report that was released not to long ago...but that makes Star Wars no less of a huge cash-cow for LEGO. I think the fact that the summer sets for the Clone Wars launch are so big and expensive points to LEGO's confidence in the line.

People on the internet just like to spew bile and fuss and moan. It is then up to the rest of us to mercilessly beat them over the head with reason, logic, positivity, and sarcasm until they run away from their keyboards crying into their Yu-Gi-Oh cards deino2.gif

A topic or two is okay to let people complain in, but I imagine merging complaints into a single topic is a good way to deal with glutting a board up with hyper-negativity.

Even if it was a Galidor forum, I'd still only let 1 to 2 topics slamming it be allowed.

And as Hinckley said, if a single person is going all crazy overkill with it, they'll get squished.

Would this not also count as a negative topic (albeit regarding negative topics)? ;-)

Steve

I guess it would. Sorry, you can close this if you want.

Athos, you are SO deserving of your title! *sweet*

Anyhow, I think any 'negative' topics or other topics like what small brown SW alien( ;-) ) posted should go in the Embassy. It's obvious that someone shouldn't post something like that in the SW forum; what's the point? Would he expect the rest of the community to rise up and send mass emails to TLC? If he wants that to happen, if anything, put it in the Embassy, and don't cloud up our nice, friendly, positive SW community with stuff like that. *sad*

Don't think this is limited purely to the Star Wars forum. This kind of negativaty towards Lego's designs and decisions happens all over this board, and all other Lego boards.

There's the crybaby group that complains of the discontinuation of the 9V train line.

There's the sookee la-la's who think that the glory years of Bionicle are well and truly over.

Then you have the mommy's boys who need to see psychiatrists to deal with how to handle the old grey/new gray/bley debacle.

Unfortunately when you introduce adults to a kids toy, they tend to be a lot more judgemental than the target audience and find problems with everything.

And for the teary eyes who take offence to me calling Lego a toy (there will be at least 1), then this topic wiil point you to the Patent with the appropriate words highlighted.

Don't forget the grumps that rant forever when a staff member makes a mistake putting together a poll for a fun contest. X-D

:-P Just giving you a hard time. I fit into the mommy's boy category up above as I'm seeing a psychiatrist to handle the sorting of bley into my organization system. No hard feelings I hope. :-$

BTW, since your name rhymes with Road Runner, every time you post I get the Road Runner song stuck in my head: "Landlubber, if he catches you, you're through..."

Of course the most negative group of fans are the fans who take issue with anyone who takes issue with anything ;-) . At the end of the day, complaining is fun so I don't really find myself bothered by any of the complaints made by other fans.

Complaining leads to the light side *yoda* .

And for good reason. The RC motor is hell to work with on a MOC, and the 9V motor carriage can be hidden much easier under the details of the train.

If you say people are "whining" about the discontinuation of 9V trains, I could say people are "whining" about bringing pirates back (Not that I think that or anything :pir-wink: )

To me it seems like you are just whining about others who are whining

This topic is going nowhere and is becoming negative in itself. :hmpf: I will hereby burn this topic, and hopefully all the negative energy will be burned up with it!
