Same here, and I don't know why such hasn't happened yet. I mean, Lamborghini is a Volkswagen holding, so I have no idea as to what's holding Lego back...

Perhaps a Creator: Designer inspired set in the form of an Automobile Design Studio?

• Lamborghini Murcielago SV (Orange)

I would love to see the Civic Type R done or maybe a set with the old and new NSX. I wouldn’t mind getting a few more rally cars, especially the old Audi’s and Puegeot’s.

However, we know now that both cars stem from designer Adam Grabowski (= Misterzumbi; if you're interested in minifig scale car moccing and you don't know who that is you should quickly look up his MOCs) The bad news is (if I understand correctly) that there won't be a "Bandit" Trans Am set, neither as a Speed Champions set nor in another range (which so far doesn't even exist). Too bad!

 

Would love to see a BMW M5 set made at some point.

Still an iconic car, with a recent 2018 remodel, available in all sorts of colors.

Doesn't really need any "racing decoration" either.

I'd love a 2019  Corvette, a 57 Corvette, a Silverado, (or a Colorado,) a 63 Beetle, (in white, preferably...), a Veyron...

VW Golf 1 GTI. 

Might not be the most modern car , but VW Golf overall have been the most sold single car model in NL, and currently VW has the largest market share car brand in my country.

While the Golf isn't the top model in recent years (POLO and UP are selling very well), the golf 1 GTI should be recognizable internationally and it's a "classic"

Here are two that I'd buy if Lego made them. 

This is the Subaru Impreza 22B STI. It was made to celebrate Subaru's 40th anniversary and 3rd manufacturer title in the WRC. 

This is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 Tommi Makinen Edition. It was named after Finnish rally driver Tommi Makinen, who had won Mitsubishi four WRC championships.

Given Speed Champions' newly-adopted penchant for flagship crossovers (i.e. the Urus and I-Pace), I could see this coming in a future dual-pack...

Looks like Aston Martin has entered the luxury crossover/SUV market too; so, whenever we may see the brand make its way over to Speed Champions, perhaps it'll be as another dual-pack including the DBX (much like Jaguar and Lamborghini have done)...

For 2020 I would like to see Lego produce the following cars for the Speed Champions theme in the new 8 stud width style:

• Lamborghini Terzo Millennio: with an unmistakable and unique style, the hypercar of the future, with the hope of seeing new techniques and pieces for this set and possibly less stickers;
• Koenigsegg Jesko: one of the fastest possible cars in the world with a revolutionary design and advanced mechanical and engineering technologies. As above, I would like to see new techniques and pieces, as a possible new type of tapered windscreen.
• Jaguar XJ220: the best supercar from Jaguar, iconical of early '90s, it was revolutionary for the time, with the possibility of seeing it with its original color, it does not require a wide use of stickers.
• Lancia Stratos HF and Lancia Delta S4: two timeless cars in the history of motoring rally, pure Italian style and lots of grit and malice under the hood. The perfect rivals for the current Audi Sport quattro S1.

I would love a classic 80s black Lamborghini Contach (whatever model it is you see at the start of Cannonball Run would be epic)

More Lamborghini supercars in general would be good, especially a single-car pack at a cheaper price point than the current double-car pack.

McLaren F1 definitely.

A Chevy El-Camino or similar GM pickup truck (car-derived) will probably never happen but would be awesome to see.

Definitely a Tesla of any sort (although somehow I doubt that would happen either)

Classic jag (d-type or e-type or something)

Call me crazy, but i just walt lego to produce a minifigure scaled 8 stud wide minicooper or volkswagen golf, and a 8 to 9 stud wide van like the golfwagen transporter or mercedes sprinter, that can be converted from a 5 or 7 seater into a camping van, along with a dodge ram 1500 or ford f150 car and maybe an 8 stud wide luxury sedan like the volkswagen phaeton or mercedes s classe or audi a8

as for to how to fit 5 lego figures together on 9 studs, it is quite doable by using 2x1 plates with 1 knob and using panels on the sides. 1 figure in center, the 2 other figures each on 2 2x1 plates with one knob, so they are both raised a bit and also take in less space, and then just a plate on each side

sure for something as blocky as a van this should not be much trouble

heck, want it even easier, just have the middle figure just sit one stud more in front then the other 2 on the back row, then they will only take up less then 8 studs, and not 8

what i would find equally important though, would be to have more interior detail instead.

I would like a dashboard, i would like a center console, i maybe would like a steering wheel that can move a bit, i would like sliding doors on my van, maybe even regular doors on the other cars, i would like a center console in my audi a8 at the back for the passenger, i would like a trunk, i would like a hood that opens up to reveal an engine that is prefferably 3 dimensional, also good as a print, still awsome enough to be a sticker on a 2x2 tile.

and in fact no, i do not need them to be racers per se at all, but i want to see about the same quality the current new line of speed champions got, while still not being like made up lego city vehicles.

edit: and neither i want more actual scaled up models that are not minifigure scaled either
