Orthanc looks awesome with Saruman standing in the balcony above the doors.  That is the only figure I keep with it.  I also do not have treebeard next to it, fun build but the scale difference doesn’t work for display.

Minifigures would be expensive, to be sure, but I don't imagine it would be too difficult to print out your own stickers, if you don't have anything against custom ones!

Reveal is tuesday the 14th according to leakers. But we already had the reveal for Notre Dame, Mona Lisa and the Tuxedo Cat that will be released on 1st june, so why not a reveal earlier ?

That's what I was thinking - it just feels like any minute now for a leak, even though there's still probably about a week before the official reveal.

Yeah, it's not going to be another week, a new Minecraft set was just revealed for June 1st release...

I really hope Barad Dur is not delayed. In the mean time I have just bought the Dune Ornithopter and I am planning to get also the Milky Way and Notre Dame de Paris. If Lego keeps releasing great sets at this pace, I am gonna end up broke before Barad Dur is released :-)

That's totally fake. The "label" on the top isn't even on straight, and it's missing any kind of imagery on the sides or top for the scale. Not to mention the fact that the minifigs are huge compared to the build, and we can only see two (and we know a lot more than two in the final build).

Cast that fake into the fire! Destroy it!

Jurassic World is still missing too ;). Both will very likely be revealed next week though, so not much time left to wait.

To much pixel to see anything there lol. Actually if it were real, in this quality the leak wouldn´t give us much more than the info we already got anyways. 

Anyways, the watermark alone would make it look fake to me already.

I feel this happens with all the themes I like...Star Wars, LOTR...but just a result of me seeing what I want to see haha

So, if the plan is to churn out another giant LOTR set after Barad-Dur, would the next big set be in production now?

Given that Barad-Dur originally leaked with the survey at the same time as Rivendell, it's likely that Barad-Dur has been ready to go for a while (pending Rivendell sales)

So with that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if there was already several other concept models being worked on already, maybe even finished and just waiting for Barad-Dur sales before the final refinements ready for next year.

It might make a lot of sense for them to do a 'wave' of UCS style set designs at the same time, so the research is concentrated into one slot. Especially for IP sets, where the level of accuracy to the source material is usually important (for consumers and the IP holders), so it means they can watch the movies, review art boards, see props/sets, and get several sets out of that time rather than one. But also it means they can get a lot more out of interaction with the IP owners, who may not be available to work with them annually in line with LEGO's release cycle. Doing all of it up front is probably a lot more efficient, as core set design is probably a relatively short part of the overall process. They may leave them as concept models before they get the green light though, and then go through all the LEGO internal processes of quality, build, production etc, so could still change at a later date.

If they plan to do one Set every year now, I would say more than one.

Sounds really great (if it does look great at least ;))

I do wonder however, if the GWP will be exclusive to Barad-Dûr only, or if it is possible that it goes for Lord of the Rings-Sets - that way it would be possible to get it also with buying Rivendell. Rumours so far said it will be Barad-Dûr, and while that surely will be the most likely option, there might still be a little chance to get it with Rivendell too.
