Unfortunately I didn't come out of my last dark age & serious debt until several years after those sets were no longer available on the open market.  Fortunately, I am now debt free other than my mortgage & car payments and happily retired.  If I found those sets on deep discount in today's market they would definitely be bought.  I find myself grabbing interesting sets for the parts when I see good deals on them.  Anything with castle or ship parts is a bonus.

Sadly none of the pieces here are actually available. The hairpieces, crown, quiver, bow and cape are all existing pieces but these specific colors haven't been made (yet). The heads, torso's, arms and legs are all custom graphic designs I did myself.

Does anyone think a recolor/ new print of Aragog would work as a shelob?  I was looking at the old shelob next to aragog and thought with some small changes it could be a decent set.  I would at least buy it if the did it that way.

You could always use Aragog for the spiders in Mirkwood from the hobbit also.

Lego's own data has it as 2025 still. This info hasn't been wrong once in the years I've tracked it, so I would only really start to panic if it changes

Yes, they are the only ones who have reported it yet, but they say they have a reliable source.

If it gets a surprise last minute retirement a whole year early, that would be for the first time ever since I started tracking retirement dates. I'm definitely skeptical, but I'll keep an eye on it

Does this it was originally meant to be on shelves till December 2025, and now will be December 2024?  That is unfortunate if true.  I have noticed that both Barad Dur and Rivendell have 2XVIP deals right now too. 

 

I also find it strange that there has been no rumors for next year (at least strongly sourced rumors).  I get pessimistic when this happens.  I just went back and read through the old Hobbit thread from 2014 where everyone was hoping for more LOTR sets and weird things were happening with the rumors and lack of rumors.  Hoping for some positive news about the theme coming back.

 

For me the ideal things that they could do next year would be 5 play sets plus a CMF line, but we really need some good news for the theme.

Good to hear, what site is best to follow?  Would like to keep up to date on them and I mostly just see YouTube speculation.  

I have been thinking a lot about some of the next set requests about bag end and I have come around to I would prefer a play set of the party tree, it would have a buildable tree, tent, kitchen area, tables, and a dragon, and have 12 minifigures (Gandalf, bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Rosie, merry, pippin, and five more hobbits). Retail around $160.

RLFM days was in Billund last week, so it there is a set it was on display there most likely. However they usually keep there mouth shut, but if you are lucky a set name or similar might leak to calm your nerves

You never know who will leak something, so the best site to follow would probably here, since someone will share the info if it comes up somewhere.

If they continue on the current LotR Icons trend, it will likely be a 'slice' of the shire with multiple holes.
