In any case I will buy it, as I have bought every single LOTR set so far (except the ugly BrickHeadz of course, which do not count) I find this so funny. Every time LOTR gets brought you insult the BrickHeadz. It's tiring. Hate to be that guy but your collection is not complete because the BrickHeadz DO count)))) Quote

Balrogofmorgoth Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 I don’t get Brickheadz, but the LOTR ones aren’t as bad in my opinion. I got them because of the completionist in me but I do kind of like them actually. But generally speaking I think Brickheadz are dumb Quote

I would love some new hobbits outside the four so hoping we get 10-12 minifigures. a second set would be awesome. I echo the sentiment that it is not just a buildable creature like Harry Potter is doing but the actual bridge scene. still holding out hope for Gondor. Most completionists don't get LEGO BrickHeadz when collecting certain themes, because it's a separate one in itself. Quote

Rivendell and Baradur are under the Icons umbrella, no? So do they not count. The Brickheadz is listed on brickset and bricklink as well. Quote

There are also Dimensions sets, Comic Con packaging with common figures and parts inside, the store build of Sting, key chains, sticker sheets, and various computer games, and so on if you want to be completely complete. Right, so you need ALL the sets to say you have the full collection. That's what I'm saying. I can say I have the entire collection and only own the brickheadz. Not how it works. That doesn't count. Personally I don’t count the little ugly store builds as part of the official line. And I still consider my collection complete. I could go either way on the Brickheadz, but I do have them. I count poly bags too Quote

As someone who got raked over the coals for saying the LotR line is back because technically it's Icons and Brickheadz, the lesson I learned is none of this new wave counts towards completion of the LotR theme, because none of it has that theme as a label. As others have pointed out, individual collectors can draw whatever line they want for completionism. Anyone who naively added the middle earth brick heads to 'complete' their LotR collection actually just has an incomplete Brickheadz theme collection now. ;) Quote
MKJoshA Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Arguing over whether Brickheadz count towards a theme or not is a little much isn't it? Either you collect them as part of a theme or you don't. No one is handing out awards for complete collections so can we agree to having different opinions? Quote

I hope we're all just being a little cheeky. Brickheadz are definitely. Love it or hate it offering though. Looking forward to more deets on bag end, and about to order barad dur tonight when insiders weekend kicks off! (Full disclosure, I'm only a completionist for my minifig collection, so there's lots of sets, especially hobbit and Brickheadz ones, that just never interested me too much) Quote
Kaijumeister Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 (edited) Nice to hear Bag End will be cheaper than Rivendell and Sauron’s Skyscraper, but I do hope the minifigure selection is more interesting than several hobbits and perhaps Gandalf (new hair / hat please!) and a Nazgul or two. It’d be great to get Thorin and company from the Hobbit films, but I doubt Lego will be willing to resurrect that many old moulds for a one-off set. The other set is presumably the Balrog one teased by T & N Bricks. Hopefully a minifigure compatible set that includes Gandalf annd perhaps a new Glamdring mould, and not simply a poorly realised statue that Lego loves clogging licensed themes up with these days. THELEGOBATMAN Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Not sure how reliable this website is, but it lists Bag End as a 350€ set. https://en.hothbricks.com/nouveautes-lego-2025-rumeurs/ Quote

Why do people keep saying this? “We already got them” it’s been over ten years, it’s remake time. Just because a lot of them still hold up ok doesn’t mean they wouldn’t benefit from modern remakes Quote

Lordhelmet Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 I am good with some remakes. However for Bag End I am hoping for a bunch of hobbits set in LOTR. Especially if it is $350. I don't think 12-15 total mini figures is too much to ask for especially considering if they are hobbits you would only have two or three legs with no prints, plus different colors of the same hair piece, just torso and face prints to work on. If they go with the hobbit version vs. LOTR then I would want at least 18- 20 mini figures so we can get some hobbits in addition to the company and Gandalf (2 sackville Baggins, and maybe one selling off Bilbo's belongings) Quote

chris6507 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 (edited) I suppose if the set is just Bag End without any further Hobbiton, they could do something similiar to the UCS Millennium Falcon and Collectors Edition Hogwarts Express and have both sets of minifigures you'd expect from both Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Realistically to have it be both, all you would really need is The Hobbit figures and the an Old Bilbo and Frodo to turn it from a one movie set to an either or set. Personally I already have all the dwarfs, so i'm not too invested either way. But seems like the easiest route for LEGO to take to cover all bases at a relatively low additional cost. I just hope it's a beautiful looking set. I still haven't got Barad-Dur as I can't justify paying full price for that set without a bloody good GWP coming with it! Find GWP's a bit lacking in excitement this year, especially at Christmas. Edited November 24, 2024 by chris6507 Quote

Getting the dwarves with Bag-End would be great, because getting a range of Hobbit minifigures (I.e. the same template with the same hairpiece just with different prints) in a big Icons set would be underwhelming IMO. I can definitely see the set including Gandalf’s cart too. I’ll be interested to see how Lego’s approach towards LotR will evolve once the Hunt for Gollum nears release. Will we get a combination of classic trilogy sets and tie-ins like the old days I wonder? After clearing out much of my existing Star Wars collection and perhaps with a reinvigorated interest because of reading the LotR books again, I’m this close to ordering Rivendell. Amazon currently have it for £365 which is awfully tempting. Edited November 24, 2024 by Kaijumeister Quote
