After looking at the image every chance I got today. I’m pretty convinced it actually is the same as the leaked image or at least VERY close. Part of the bottom of the set is hidden by the table and the distortion really is hiding aspects of it and making it look much more different than it actually is

Anyway, I've been thinking about a GWP. Maybe there will be one like the Eiffel's apartment one, that has JRR himself ( at a writing desk) but made from existing minifig parts. that might be the best option from a certain point of view as it wouldn't be anything from middle earth itself that would then be made exclusive to a hard to get gwp but it would still be something fun and special. Though maybe a Nazgul on horse back with a brick built wave would be fun and relevant as long as neither the nazgul or the horde stayed exclusive for too long.

I found the tall tree in the image. It’s right behind the small section of building on the left. It’s super distorted like everything else and is kind of lost behind some of the leaves of the big tree. But it’s there

I still can't believe LOTR is coming back. As a kid I didn't have any of the sets but watched the reviews and trailers for hours. I got into LOTR through Lego and will never forget watching the hobbit with my grandpa when it first came out. The magic this theme had back then has never been repeated for me. It actually helped me learn English and advance it since all the reviews were in English:))) I've gotten two sets from the original theme with only of them still being put together so I  will be at the Lego store at the crack of dawn on the 1st of March.

That probably would’ve been leaked, plus we already know about that moving truck GWP that will be given out during the release period

Well, I suppose I get one more night to hope they do a LOTR gwp for Rivendell :).  I figure we will know for sure tomorrow when the do the official announcement.

Did you play the game as well? It was my Christmas present in 2012 and I remember it very fondly. It's been almost a decade since I last played it, but I would still recommend it!

Is that how they normally do it?

It feels like more recently they've tried to hide what GWPs are when (The UK at least used to have pretty accessable store calendars with that sort of info but now not so much). Perhaps to trick people into making extra purchases with FOMO or perhaps because they don't know the demand for some of them or how long stocks will last ( so publishing an availability window months in advance would be a bother. Not to be too cynical but I think it's probably the former.

From what I can tell it's pretty much identical to the leaked image. The fisheye distortion hides the tall green tree, and possibly the seemingly missing ones behind the pavilion as well.

The main tree looks massive like this, but I'm like 99% sure it's the same scale to the one in the leak. Y'all gotta start accounting for the distortion.

Promobricks on Instagram have shared a reel of Bilbo and his “scary face’ moment .. another lego related page ( pricyplasticproduct ) suggests old Bilbo minifigure will feature this face, dual sided I’m guessing 😁

1- what time of day should we expect tomorrow's press release?

( assuming that's it's tomorrow since the year was today ( or technically yesterday since it's 1:51 am in my timezone, whoops, last post before bed I guess) doesn't matter what timezone as I can convert it( as you as you clarify which timezone you mean))

2- should the first post in this topic be edited to add more recent information?

( I.e mention Rivendell and Barad-dûr)

Small thing, I wonder what the box art will look like. Icons, so probably black. Wish it had art depicting a Rivendell-scape like from the films. Still gonna buy it either way!

IF there is a promo i'd expect it to be similar to gandalf's arrival. Just seems perfectly sized for what they're most likely to release for a gift with purchase.

They sold a poly bag in December of last year as a Macy’s exclusive that was a rehashed Gandalf in Gondor for 20usd.  WOuldn’t surprise me if they made it exclusive.

Same. I hate the void boxes. They really suck the fun out of seeing sets on shelves. Half the LEGO Store is just a black wall now :(

The trees are there. One of them (the taller one) is still visible. Dont panic :)
