Alegrispa Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Oh, cool, they gave Gimli some hair as well! Are those pieces that make up the plinth the ring sit upon new? I could swear I've seen them in something else recently, but I'm not sure. Ha, of course it's a Mike Psiaki! Best designer they got right now, by far. Really looking forward to building it now. Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I just noticed Glóin is using the Owen/Tony Stark shirt xD. That's a bit weird. Also, isn't this the first time in a while that we have had a piece in chrome? Quote
ToaDraco Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) This looks absolutely stunning. Incredible building techniques, so many great minifigs, so many great new pieces... man I really, REALLY hope we're getting some standard retail sets at some point soon. This and the rumored Tower of Orthanc are just too massive and over-priced. Honestly, 2 of the things I want most are a Treebeard set and a Balrog set. Both would have to be large brick-built creatures and considering how much LEGO loves making mechs and mech-like builds, would fit perfectly in the $60-$80 range. Agent Kallus Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 It's funny how I guessed it was a hour till reveal and then it was immediately revealed I've read through the set description properly now. So 5th for VIPs , with the existing Frodo and gollum brickheadz as a nonexclusive gwp. I guess I can alway give brickhead Frodo better hair. Quote

But giving him and Gimli the mid legs doesn't really work in my eyes. I think it works perfectly, since dwarves are canonically taller than hobbits 19 minutes ago, Agent Kallus said: New fern part is a nice unexpected surprise. A prototype of the piece itself leaked months ago, but I didn‘t expect to see it here This is an absolutely stunning set! So many cool details and references And it‘s identical to the leak too!! But I suppose neither one of the pieces would have been perfect. Quote
DocStrange Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Is that an armoury with all new weapons and a new STING??? I love how they made pieces to look like the hobbits are sitting! Those pictures of possible future designs look awesome! Quote
Bardan_Jusik Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Omg the made molded Anduril AND Narsil!? This is everything I wanted. Fantastic job Lego. Quote
Shroffy123 Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Wow these set is amazing. I really hope they include a fully repaired Narsil sword 😄 Quote
General Magma Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) Super cool, set looks great. The figures do too. Although, a few things I would change, such as more dual moulded boots on certain figures and swapping Elrond's head and hairpiece out for the original ones, Gandalf also deserved a new hat piece with hair and it would've been better if they had white hobbit hair for Bilbo. Couple of the original face prints were better, if you ask me, but overall they succeeded for sure and it may be hard to resist getting this one. Good to see the theme back, hope it does well and spawns more LOTR sets. All the new moulds are really cool, they even gave Boromir his own sword mould. Edited February 7, 2023 by General Magma Quote
Balrogofmorgoth Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Greatest lego set of all time, hands down. My only complaint WHY DID THEY MAKE GIMLI A GINGER Quote
Wardancer Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 I love the printed tiles that make some of the floor inside the house. No wonder this is 6000 pieces. Quote
TheDoctor Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Soooooo, when do we get the Barad-dur pics.... Quote

It looks like they've created a new weapon accessory pack like for Ninjago sets. With that and Aragorn not being in his most recognisable outfit would make you think there are more sets on the way, and 5 years ago there may have been. But now I don't think so and I can only say; what a shame. Well we've already seen Barad-dûr, this was from the same source and the survey was about pricing not whether the sets should exist in the first place. ( I think) I dunno but some of the choices they've made here gives me renewed hope Quote
unclejeffie Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Crap, exclusive on lego.com… not much chances for a discount then Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 This is by far the most beautifull location set ever made in Lego history. No kidding. I am just stunned. Hope that there are only few stickers (if none I would be in heaven). I slowes sown a little bit with buying sets I like on day, therefore I have a quite long list of sets I will get eventually, but this, THIS is definitelly day 1 purchase. I am also curious how big the Minas Tirith or Helms deep would be, once they hit the shelves (because they will) :) Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 This set is incredible. So many amazing details. I'm sure it's nostalgia talking, but I like the old figs better. Especially the elves. That new hair piece makes them look like they all have receding hairlines. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 So all the Dots pieces are in this set now? Just kidding The set is stunningly beautiful In the future i'd like to see a moc with more landscape and trees around the set. It will be perfect Quote

Otherwise, in about a year Ashwin (grafic designer) hinted that LotR will retur in March next year… obviously he talked about Barad dur since the set is now in development. Quote
