February 7, 20232 yr I get people’s qualms with some figures, but this is in my opinion perhaps the most gorgeous set Lego has ever produced. The colours, the detailing, the overall composition—this is the kind of product that I completely understand they’d ask €500 for. Praying that this sells well and becomes habitual rather than a one-off.

February 7, 20232 yr Rivendell was never an interesting location in the books/movies for me personally, but I’m vey impressed with the final images. The building, gazebo etc. are so carefully detailed, it’s a real masterpiece. Ironically the new figures (especially the elven hairpiece) are the weakest point of the set in my opinion; usually it’s the other way around… Hopefully we get some system sets at one point or another, this set is just too expensive (again)!

Hope that there are only few stickers (if none I would be in heaven). I slowes sown a little bit with buying sets I like on day, therefore I have a quite long list of sets I will get eventually, but this, THIS is definitelly day 1 purchase. I am also curious how big the Minas Tirith or Helms deep would be, once they hit the shelves (because they will) :) There are quite a few stickers. All the art work, the bed sheets, the mithril shirt. But the floor tiles are all printed (phew!). It's a wonderful set. Looks stunning, I suspect it will be terrific to build (except maybe the roof tiles), and the trees are awesome. Really looking forward to this!

This is gonna be an agonizing wait However, for the time being we have this glorious set to satisfy our LOTR needs The number of new parts alone is stunning! Elven hair, dwarven beards, and all those weapons!! As others have pointed out, this has to be one of those Ninjago-style weapon packs And that Sauron tease is fantastic!
February 7, 20232 yr Dream come true set. Here's what I especially appreciate: 1) Gimli's axes are new molds, and his helmet (I think) is also slightly different than in the older sets. It looks great. 2 New Narsil mold. Insane that they took the trouble to make a broken sword especially for this set. 3) The printed floor tiles are stunning. 4) The statues - they look great and feel basically like 6 bonus minifigs, even though they are static in their role in the set. 5) The fully-loaded armory. I can't wait to see all the swords the set provides. 6) The prints for Arwen/all the elves look solid. 7) Dual molded legs for all the Hobbits! 8) Gorgeous build, and heavily accurate in reference to the movie. 9) So many amazing references to Lord of the Rings lore. Wow. They really did their homework with the graphic design. 10) Bilbo's crazy face. Just awesome. 11) Including the entire Fellowship. It's hard to envision a set like this without them, but still, this is wonderful, as I missed out on the entire wave of sets years ago. Here's what I don't like: 1) Price, but with all the prints and exclusive molds, it's hard to complain too much. $400-$450 would have been perfection. 2) The box art just sucks. Enormous missed opportunity to have a beautiful backdrop for the rest of Rivendell. I've started recycling LEGO boxes because they're so boring - which is probably the idea lol. That's it. I am holding out hope that the Sauron sticker is a subtle hint at a future set with him. People have also mentioned an Easter-Egg. My guess - the floor below the Ring in the Council seating area pops off/is removable, and below the floor is the eye of Sauron, a la in the movie when Gimli tries to destroy the ring and the Eye of Sauron flashes. Please, please, more of this, LEGO!

With the Barad-dûr leak in mind, that hint is now about as subtle as Sauron smashing people in the face with his trusty mace Might as well have printed “See you next March” on that painting

( I think) I dunno but some of the choices they've made here gives me renewed hope Rivendell was NOT from the survey, as noted by @JeanGreyForever. Therefore we cannot presume that Rivendell's reveal implies anything about the rest of the sets.

February 7, 20232 yr This is just surreal. The set is absolutely beautiful. I can’t believe Lego LOTR is back.
February 7, 20232 yr So if you click on this set at lego.com from the icons theme it takes you to "Home -> Lord of the Rings -> The lord of the Rings: Rivendell" So is the LotR theme official back now as that was the argument made against the brickheadz? Just joking around, I don't really care. This set is gorgeous and it's LotR *content* whatever you categorize it as!
February 7, 20232 yr I love the use of bricks to replace Frodo’s legs so he can actually sit down on the bed.

Looks pretty cool in that colour I have a bigger issue: WHY DID THEY MAKE SAMEWISE A GINGER It‘s not just a simple mistake since Sam‘s and Merry‘s hairpieces are swapped compared to their 2012 counterparts in every picture If we‘re VERY unlucky, never. Otherwise, in about a year It might look cool but it’s not accurate. Neither of them are which is a bummer. But that still doesn’t change the fact that this might be the best looking set ever released
February 7, 20232 yr Do you think that there will be also new reforged Narsil/Anduril mold as well? :) I thought that its included in front of the blacksmith/armory part but thats not Narsil. Just some new random sword I guess…
February 7, 20232 yr It looks great, but on the Lego page it says 50cm deep. However, when I count the studs I get to 40-50 studs max (including the angle) which is 32-40cm. On all the lifestyle pictures it doesn't look like 50cm so I was wondering what other people think/see regarding the depth?

The gazebo is off on an angle, so they might have measured it square off the main building

February 7, 20232 yr The brick built legs for sitting is cool for the hobbits, although I’m not sure why they didn’t just give Gandalf and Elrond normal legs instead of bricks.

February 7, 20232 yr The new Rivendell set is BEAUTIFUL! Alas, $500 is just too much for my poor little bank account. I will, however, plan on eventually buying some of the new hobbit feet on BrickLink so that I can update my old hobbit figures!
